I have no idea if this has already been discussed or not, but would any one else think that dying clothes in Dark Souls 2 would be good? I always wanted to paint the Gold-Hemmed set white. I think it would open more appearances to more fashion concerned players.

You could say that it would reduce immersion, but there are already people that look ridiculous. I think most of the issue would just be recognizing armor sets and that it would be pointless on invaders for the most part. It could also make some of the lore a bit awkward.

I think it's fine, it's a little Diablo-y but, even though I am not really looking for such a feature in DkS2 myself, if people want it then why not?
Although I could see it doing more harm than good; I can already hear the catcalls. "The soul of the game is gone!" "The grittiness has been replaced by Project Runway!"
To me it's a gamble, and one I'm not sure FromSoft is looking to take.

It could boost immersion, but it could also break it entirely. It seems to be more or less useless to me, but I'm not that fashion conscious, even in real life. That being said, a simpler mechanic, such as having the armor sets change color to match each other may be a better idea, and also prevent immersion breaks since it would be automatic, and logical (why would a warrior wear mis-matched armor?).

I don't really feel like it would add anything to the game. It's an element of customization that seems to go against the spirit of the game, in my opinion. There's a certain amount of vanity involved in Dark Souls, I'll admit, but I feel like customizable armor color is just one step away from microtransaction hats.

Project Runway is a good show, though.

I'm all for it; I don't think it would detract anything from the game, but I understand why others think so. My only gripe with it would be while invading.

I want skins. Some of the looks are horrible. It helps me immerse.
DCUO kinda suk'd ballz, but all the customization options made your character feel unique.
And also, imagine the cosplays!

I think it would be fun to colour your armours.. but to be honest the whole point of the armour is it's trashed and horrible anyway, having crimson armour with a white cape would kinda wreck that
having a limited and carefully listed selection of colours could be good though. I've always wanted to run round in some more unique armour combos.

If done well, yes. The colors available will need to be limited and different for different pieces, such as plate armor only having dark grey ranging to a silvery white, whereas pieces that just look like clothes or leather may have more and more brightly colored options.

I say if you've equipped it, you can skin it.
But only for each armor class. Say you can wear the Dingy Robe, but use the Black Leather skin.
Same for all other pieces too.
As far as weapons, maybe same thing??? Except for "special" weapons.
And color options too, for weapons and armor.
I also want glowing eyes....
