So a couple years ago I was on my way home from school after a night class. It was right around final exam time, so I was under a lot of stress and hadn't been getting a lot of sleep. I'd been on campus the entire day, and was on my way home around 9 at night. I stopped at the gas station to spend the last $5 I had until pay day on gas so I could get home. I got out of my car, put the nozzle in my tank, and started to try to pump, but the woman in the station was new and didn't know me and knocked on the window to come in and pay first, being that I stopped at that gas station almost every day it was out of the norm that they'd make me prepay. Anyway I went in, waited in line for about 15 minutes, finally paid, then went back out, got in my car, and drove away, completely forgetting to get gas. As I was pulling out I thought I heard somebody yelling, but didn't look around to figure out why. So I get back out on the highway and people are flashing me with their brights and honking at me, so I pull over not knowing what was going on. I'd been dragging the nozzle, and about a 10 foot length of the gas tube, which I'd ripped off the pump when I drove away forgetting to get gas. Granted I was really tired, and got distracted by breaking my routine, and then having to wait in line forever. Anyway I had to drive all the way back to the gas station to give them their gas nozzle back, and then, as if it couldn't have possibly gotten worse, I had to go in and ask them for my $5 back because I hadn't pumped any gas and couldn't get home without it. Not my finest moment.
