We should just embed the whole movie clip after clip. I'd probably sit and watch the whole thing. It'd be the first forum collective feature length movie night.

The man turns any film to gold. I was very very skeptical before watching The Twelve Chairs since the original subject matter isn't parodied as much as adapted. Well, it's honestly a major departure for Brooks. If you haven't seen it he works in some of his classic style but the emphasis is definitely on the story and acting. Not that his pure comedies aren't full of great performances but this is absolutely character driven. Wonderful movie.

Brooks knew how to do parody.
It's similar to the naked gun. I have to say the reason his parody films are so great is because you don't need to see the movies they are parodying. Without watching Star Wars you can easily get the jokes, radars getting jammed, the slapstick, the characters have actual development.
Unlike films such as Meet the Spartans. If you haven't seen the film you wouldn't get any of the jokes, and because of that they just fall flat since they are not really jokes. It's just seeing a Spartan in a scene from the film, then watching him fart. That's the joke.

I agree Tolvo. Wholeheartedly. He also got away with stuff no one ever would have dreamed of. I still don't know how Blazing Saddles is a movie. It's one of my favorites of all time and probably my favorite Brooks but man....there'd a ****storm if someone made that movie today.
