    Fission Mailed

    Post by Sentiel on Wed Mar 27, 2013 4:48 am

    I will take the liberty of quoting my very good friend, for what he said exactly describes how I feel about Dark Souls for the past two weeks.

    Fighting in the Burg isn't giving me much pleasure, it only gives me souls I have no use for and humanities I cannot use.
    Almost 7 million souls and 99 soft humanties, and I don't feel as if I have learned anything, apart being able to spot a fisher when I meet one.
    The times I die are the times when my opponent teleports behind my back and backstabs me, usually with that very special animation.

    I never get parried and the fights I enjoy are far and few inbetween, and when I summon the same person again after they have lost they go all apeshit on me, healing, running away, hiding or black crystal out after they ran down to the merchant.

    I have no desire to win, just to have fun and actually learn something, and lately the fun factor is almost non existent and I resort to low level co op in Burg or Parish, hoping for a twink to invade.
    But even then the 'give me a +14 weapon' or 'need paladin set' messages are capable of ruining my day, forcing me to log off.
    While I have my co-op thread to keep me busy, there isn't much to do on PS3. The requests keep coming for Xbox and PC, but no PS3. All I get is the usual "Help me kill Four Kings on SL 1" and "I need this and that item." I refuse these requests, because for one I don't trade and SL 1 is a challenge run. If you can't do it, don't bother with it in the first place. Look Skyward

    I thought about joining a user made Covenant and even got invited to one, but it just doesn't fit with me. Putting my dislike to user made lore aside, it just doesn't ring a bell within me. I was a part of few clans and even made one myself and it was fun and all, but this just seems vastly different and not to my tastes.

    All of this is just my long way of saying that I grew bored of Dark Souls. I feel like I drained all the fun the game has in itself.

    I feel like I need a change, even though I'm looking forward to Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. :shock:

    Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is what fills my nights right now, but it's slowly starting to bore me. Especially it's terrible reward system and suprisingly bad community, full of competetive players in pure co-op game. Lot of the guys just outright kick me from their games, or provide me with a hefty lot of hatemail. Shrug

    I'm not going to leave the forum, nor Dark Souls. Worry not. I will just be less active on both and try to play other games (not much to choose from to be honest :| ).

    I hear ya. I absolutely love the thrill of forest combat, but a lot of time it's fishers, when it's 1v1, and gankers. I get more "duels" in the township. I once invaded the same guy several times and each time we had a fun battle with parries. I tend to make my fights enjoyable and/or interesting: cast acid surge for smoke effect, dodge all attacks to make the person mad, and lots of other stuff. I've gotten into using the RoF and SDC ring and I stalk people in the forest, BS them, and hide.

    If you want more interesting fights, then make add some style to your builds. 8)

    I ran to New Londo yesterday trying to get the very large ember to complete my host for the FC at level 17, 55 soft humanities and 600000 souls gathered by cooping, mostly from the Gargoyles and Quelaag.

    2 Deaths and 2 ghost gang bangs later I figured it might have been wiser to spend those souls levelling up a bit before venturing down there...

    Kinda ruined my evening Look Skyward

    Well if you really want to play something else, Fire Emblem Awakening is awesome!

    @andres
    Nice avatar you have there.

    I got to the point where I can kill people with dual wielding Whips and it's not fun anymore.

    Don't have 3DS. I don't have any handheld. While they may have good games, that whole platform is dead to me, because I just can't stare at it for hours without getting a massive headache and it just doesn't seem like a good idea to play a heavy story based games on a handheld. Make a version for Wii and I'm all for it.

    @WaLKA
    I tried it with The Orange Box on PS3. Didn't like it, sorry.
    When it comes to shooters, I like stuff like Halo: CE. To make it simple, there hasn't been a shooter since Halo: CE that I liked.

    @sure

    This happens to my lady all the time. Makes me remember how I lost my XX million Souls and 99 Humanity to duo Sanctuary Guardian gangbang. happy

    I want to try again tonight, very large ember, 4 kings and then get Black Flame, currently level 51 but I can level higher if need be.

    You should join (read help) me if you can abandon your space vessel that is?

    That's why I never got into PvP. Too competitive.

    I feel you buddy. That's why I feel like I can finally kick the addiction. I feel like I've done everything I can do for myself for the time being with PvE(I can beat most of the game at low levels) and PvP just isn't satisfying when I'm not participating in a community made FC(read, our forum). I don't learn if someone skilled doesn't beat me. I can learn from you parrying my overly obvious roll R1 with the GS, I can't learn from doing the BS dance.

    I actually don't play ME3 story. I already finished that when it got released like three, or four times, I only play it's online now.
    Perhaps if I decide to buy the DLCs...

    I still remember that one. My lady was like: "OMG you could go easy on him. He's your friend."

    Sadly, the BS dance is what makes up most of the PvP. Look Skyward

    I'd suggest seeing if it isn't cheaper to return what you have and getting the complete collection(contains all DLC if I'm not mistaken).

    I can't blame you, I've gotten tired of PVP in Dark Souls myself and decided to move to play Dragon's Dogma instead. I still try to keep up activity here though, I can't imagine leaving this forum yet.

    So are we on for tonight?
    Got some dealings with our friend Chilly first, and I'll do the 4 Kings solo but I'd like some coop getting the Black Flame, don't care about Manus.
    I'll let my son handle him sometime later.

    I can't say as I ever got all that good at PvP but I know what you mean. That's the point of the Gremlin covenant (not that this is a recruitment, just an example). For those of us who like to pick it up from time to time and just have fun.

    But on the flip side, I've been spending more time with Dokuro on my Vita than anything on my PS3 at the moment. Just need to shift gears once in awhile.

    I think that The Citadel was released after the Complete Edition and Trilogy, so it probably won't be there and of course, it's the DLC I want the most. Gotta love fan service. winking
    I had ME3 Collector's Edition, but sold it after a month, or two after it's release, because I was furious with it's online reward system.
    I'm playing the PS+ version, that's for free and I'm trying to lure all PS+ guys in my Friend List to join me.

    This is how most of my fights look like. Either that, or BS fest and in the worst case scenario, some joker that likes to run away and do some crap, that I have no time for. Playing like that makes me very thirsty and I pull the cable if it drags on.

    I wanted to play Dragon's Dogma for the longest time, but the shear amount of DLCs it has put me off. I really hate cheap *** DLC like that, but I want to have everything. :|
    Dark Arisen edition should have it all included and it has super cheap price. I'm definitely going for that.
    Too bad it doesn't have multiplayer. it would be awesome to play it with friends instead of those pesky pawns.
    Although walking around with three naked women isn't that bad. winking

    Good thing about having children. let them do the dirty work. big grin
    Damn, if I'm ever gonna have a kid, I will make him do all the farming and grinding for me. king

    We can co-op as much as you want. ME3 is pissing me off to high heaven at the moment. I'll be rusty, so don't expect much from me. winking
