Where the F are my souls?

This has been happening a few times now, my souls are nowhere to be found. I forgot to pick them up before I was summoned but I won the duel and on returning to the Burg my souls are nowhere. This is so frustrating, is this a common glitch? I've also been having trouble when my game freezes, it takes away all my souls but keeps the humanity for some reason.....

It's bad enough losing your souls because you fell off a cliff or something, but when the game does it it is rage inducing.

I know that I have had a few bloodstains "disappear," but if you summon/invade I've noticed that the chance of spontaneous bloodstain combustion is immensely higher than if you just play in your own world. The only solution I can think of is to avoid leaving bloodstains before you leave. That's about all you can do :|

Well thanks for the info anyway, it's just frustrating, the freezing thing has only started happening recently as well. It never used to take my souls away even when the game froze, but oh well there's nothing one can do I guess

I only get freezing issues every now and then; although, they travel in packs. Watch out for 'em!
