I will never understand this mentality. Unless an invader is clearly cheating, I would never d/c (in fact, I don't even d/c if they do cheat, just because I can't be bothered.) I fail to see how dying one time in Dark Souls of all games is such a big deal that people will d/c if they go up against a build they don't like. Is someone playing on a twink character and trolling for invasions in Undead Burg against new players kind of scummy? Yeah. Is it outside of the spirit of the game? No. You choose to play online, and if you're unprepared, you'll lose to a Giant Mom or something. It happens. Touch your bloodstain and move on. Indict them if you feel it's necessary. Also, Giant builds aren't just an instant-win build, there's a lot you can do, without even explicitly preparing for them.

Some people use cheesy tactics in Dark Souls, and I'm not going to pretend every PvP encounter comes down to skill, because sometimes someone's going to have gear that just shuts down your build. That's the game. I don't understand this mentality of people feeling so concerned with having their online experience be such and such a way that they disconnect or write scathing messages to players who win with a Zweihander and then "Well What is it?". That's Dark Souls, that's just how the game is, and for a game that requires so much patience, I don't see how people get so frustrated at the way other people play online.

And this works both ways, if you're being invaded, you should feel even less obligated to be anything but a total scumbag. When someone is invading, if they're not expecting a two-phantom gank (which is super cheesy) or someone to heal up like crazy or cast a ton of sorcery or fish for backstabs or whatever, then they shouldn't be engaging in what is effectively the video game equivalent of sucker-punching a dude on the street.

Ejected disk? Never place it back into your PS3. DarkSouls is not for you.

OP, is there a reason you've been acting like a total *** to everybody on the forum?

I typically eject my disc when I'm in 'matchmaking limbo'. which is what I call it when your gate's fogged up, but on your recently played list there's no one coming into your world. And you're just stuck there, for five minutes, because the gate won't screw off. I have better things to do with my time. :|

Giant parents are definitely beatable. I'm shocked that any of you even consider backing down from a fight, you obviously need to listen to this

Anything is possible. Even unlimited health hackers can be destroyed.

I started sunday and got killed by invaders a dozen time but still, I wouldn't eject / dashboard, etc... It's normal to die and lose. It's part of the game.

There was one big guy in undead parish yesterday. (im SL 20). I couldn't hurt him at all. I think he invaded me like 3 times.

The 3rd time I did a «Hi» emote when he was running toward me. He backstabbed me during the emote but he did the same emote as I was laying in my blood.

Kinda see him as a friend now. LOL

That's the best way to regard it, maybe once you've reached a higher level and gotten better you can join the Darkmoons and repay him for his kindness winking

ejecting the disc or force quitting is more like admitting defeat than any sort of revenge. whenever someone disconnects on me i just think how sad they are and then laugh because i made them get off the couch so they could pull the plug.

if you really want to grief the griefers, make it to NG+ on a low level character and summon Solaire and Lautrec. watching those two gank any griefers that show up is magical.

Same thing happened to me in the Parish, except the host was the one to turn off his console instead of me. Then he proceeded to call me all sorts of foul names.

I was about to say the same thing.

It reminds me of a time in Anor Londo. I was sl55, with my Gravelord Sword +3, Havel's Helm and Silver Knight set on. I was barely mid-rolling. I invade a host, stood at the top of the stairs with 2 phantoms. I run at the host, who runs off, being faster than me. The two phantoms start chasing me. Since I find the Gravelord Sword quite good, I beat both of them, but nearly died myself. The host died from a single backstab.

I was called things from a hacker, to a glitcher, to a fa**ot.

i got hate mail earlier cuz this guy invaded me using the typical Mom mask/dingyrobe/havelgloves/maidenskirt using grass crest and chaos halberd, threw lyods talismans at me and was running off into the enemies to heal after i kept backstabbing him with my DGA with 50 str and did like 1100 damage. he called me a hornet using noob when i wasnt even using the hornets ring lol i was just really strong. i told him if i was using hornets he would have known it
