Is it still possible to get this ring now? I'm not in this covenant! When I saw this cat sitting in that ruin I sadly said "no" to the cat.

If you didn't kill the cat, you can request absolution at the belltower. Then the cat will like you again. Join the covenant, talk to Shiva who has now spawned outside, head to Blighttown, go to the bottom of the elevator thingy (the shortcut to/from valley of drakes), and kill the ninja bodyguard standing behind the wooden fence, close to Shiva.

If you want, you can first talk to Shiva again before killing the bodyguard (but still in Blighttown) and buy some weapons or something. He sells some really rare ones and some that can only be obtained from him.

I have tried Kalameet a lot and I have no Idea what I can do to have some control over him. I always die! Those youtube videos all look very cool but I think they have tried a lot too.

I almost don't feel like trying it any longer. It is so frustrating! Everything is so fast-paced!

The dragon never shows me his tail, that I also wanted to cut off, I either stand somehow beneath him and get hits or I get the breath or he picks me up with his telekinesis thing.

I never manage to dodge his hits with the head (that moves from one side to the other).
Artorias was pretty easy in comparison to him because I was able to see what move comes next.

look on the back of your game case, what does it say at the top? just take your time and keep a level head

Point Up best advice so far. Take your time and learn. I recently helped a friend cutting damn dragon's tail. We baited around for at least twenty minutes until i finally got some blows in and OGS was ours. Its the hardest part on playing DkS: patience.

Now I can recognise a lot of his moves in advance. Biggest problem is his vertival flying breath attack where he very often hits me. I don't manage to run/jump away fast enough. Or I run in the wrong direction. Sometimes I can see him during his rise and see where his head and tail is. In this case I try to run in the direction of his tail. Then he doesn't get me. But often I don't see his position in the air at all.
another thing is after his blow attacks or after his head side attacks (left or right). Here I try to get close to him and hit him. Only once! After that I often get hit by kind of attacks of his repertoire.

BTW. I now have the Artorias Greatshield and this truly is a cool thing! Fighting against normal enemies is easier because they all get bounced and cannot end their combos (e.g. knights) . My strenght had to be increased to 34 now. And since it was such a pleasure fighting all the knights in Anor Londo with this nice new shield I increased it to 36.

    Sounds like you're almost there~

If you still can't run from the vertical attack, it may be that you're standing too close to him. If you stand a little further away, you should be able to see him better and will be able to dash in, grab a running attack hit, then shield up so you can back away again.

If you're getting hit when you go to hit him, then you may need to either swap to a slightly faster weapon, or wait for the larger openings to get hits in.

Either way, sounds like you're almost at the point you can block/avoid all his attacks, and from there it's just a matter of taking it slow and steady, playing it safe until he's dead.

Just know on NG, you only need to deal around maybe a 1000 damage to the tail to cut it off. That is probably only 10 swings.

Also, this isn't an MMO. There is no Enrage timer. The only "soft enrage timer" is if you run out of Estus Flasks or Humanity.

    You can do it.

Advice for a starter: Do not go into this battle with heavy armor or mid roll. You -WANT- fast roll. -25% weight.

Weapons I'd Suggest for the Tail:

    BK Halberd
    Any Halberd
    Any Greatsword.

Wrong, less than 1000. I've cut it with only 536 damage. It's not always the damage but which part of the tail you cut.
You can tank Kalameet. You don't absolutely need fast roll.

Only dodge when you have to and tank all his hits. If he flies at you, just walk to the side and you're fine.

^ Please read carefully. The above poster said 'NG'.

Even in NG+ and above it's possible to tank Kalameet.

Yeah, but NG Tail-cutting advice isn't the most helpful thing to offer to someone in NG+. Was just pointing it out, in case they had extra/different info to offer.

I think the OP once said he was in NG+

Since i suck at tanking, i did it with fastroll, and i really don't understand how you get caught so often in his attack, really, the only thing you have to do is unlock and run towards the camera (i.e. away from him)
There are much more difficult things you seem to handle with more ease

The poster stated that in NG you are required to do at least a thousand damage on the tail which was clearly wrong. That's all i'm saying.

In NG+, every breakpoint is doubled respectively.

Exactly. That's what you need to do if he flies up for the fire blast.

Thanks for all of your help.
I started this thread in ng and kalameet wasn't that difficult.
But now in ng+ it is so difficult!

Mmmm, what do you mean "run towards the camera"?

I really don't understand what I now do differently compared to ng! I cannot remember that the vertical blast was an issue

BTW: What is the best weapon with the highest reach and a good damage for me against Kalameet.

I have testet the reach of the Lifehunt scythe to try to stay a bit farther away. But I have to go very narrow to the dragon to touch him.
I just played already 5 more times (after work) and what can I say, I died of his vertical flying blast attack and when he long shooted forward. This is also very complicated to see when I'm below him or very close to him. (I mean the move with the sweeping blast that follows).

after one week of trying this dragon is away!

Post by Micha369 on Sat Apr 13, 2013 6:21 am

I have needed one week for kalameet! It's done - without the tail, unfortunately
    I hate this dragon!!!!

My final equipment for the fight I won:
    Great Scythe+15 (5kg)
    Greatshield of Astorias (12kg)
    Darkwood grain ring (ninja flip-ability)
    Cloranthy Ring
no other clothings because of keeping the weight below 25%

Oh dear, I see ng++ coming!!!

Thanks for all of your help!

Gwyn was a cakewalk really! I personally consider Kalameet much harder.
