If your looking for gankers go to the forest, there you have more of chance against the gankers. A lot of the gankers in the township tend to give you as little of a chance as possible for escape, depending on where you invade.

I feel like forest gankers are easier to kill, but they can close in on you easier. However theres more room in township, but from my own experiences, one single host might as well have the manpower of two gankers. Nothing but gold tracer spam with dark magic and ninja flipping.

Forest gankers tend to be more mindless and "courageous" because the NPCs there don't really hinder them too much that they're afraid of dying. But it does happen.
Township gankers are more a closely-knit group and not as agressive as the forest ones the moment you run to the enemies.
At least that's how i see it. In the forest, there's a higher chance to have someone else assist you while there are tons of monsters in the township if you mess up.
