I’ve also been known to be staring at stars.
I’ll be dead by the time you find me,
but have no doubt, for I can be free.
CATEGORY: items
CORRECT ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Bloodred Moss
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- It is not the mind but the tissue

*The blood in your body is medically classified as a tissue.
If the worst should succeed do not stress,
I will not, I’ll only coalesce.
*Coalesce is loosely synonomous with coagulate.
I’ve taken refuge behind iron bars,
I’ve also been known to be staring at stars.

RIDDLE # 2
Pick me up for I am not owned but my old master is surely missed,
Knights fear me as I slide between their armor bits.
CATEGORY: weapons
CORRECT ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Estoc
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- Pick me up for I am not owned but my old master is surely missed,
The weapon is found on a body at the beginning of the New Londo ruins with a grieving hollow next to it.
Knights fear me as I slide between their armor bits.
This was hinting at the weapon being a rapier/thrusting weapon, and yes in the description it also mentions 'piercng knights armout'!

RIDDLE #4
A flicker, a flare
You're almost there
when down comes a tower of steel
and with great rewards comes greater a peril
when this freight of a beast slays you.
Although it is quick it also is slow
Sought after by all
Yet attained by but one
We screech and we claw and in time it will fall
from the hands of the one whom swings it.
CATEGORY: weapon
CORRECT ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Greataxe
Any deriviation that indicated "Berakand Knight's Great Mace"
The great mace is the accurate answer, however the enemy this riddle was created for can drop a Greataxe upon being defeated, and as such the Greataxe would have been accepted as an answer.
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- A flicker, a flare
Behind the knight that holds this mace is a firekeeper soul, the unclaimed item has the particle effect of a flickering flare.
You're almost there
By the time you first see the knight you are within 5 feet of the keepers soul
when down comes a tower of steel
The knight to any player looks like a tower of black steel, it looks large and unyielding, and you're unsure how to fight it.
and with great rewards comes greater a peril
The great reward is the firekeeper soul, the greater peril is the Knight, whom in a single swing does more damage then an estus flask +1 (your reward) can heal.
when this freight of a beast slays you
A play on words, the enemy you are fighting is both practically a freight train, and it is a frightful encounter your very first time.
This part of the riddle is both a clue and a mis-direction, it describes the scene of where you are, which if properly interpreted guides you to the correct weapon, but it also misguides you into believing the treasure spoken of is the weapon, when in fact the treasure, a firekeepers soul, is mundane and irrelevant as far as finding the answer is considered.
Although it is quick it also is slow
The knights swing this mace in a particularily interesting fashion: They have a very slow wind up, and then a very lightning fast swing. The same is actually true for the Greataxe.
Sought after by all
Yet attained by but one
One of the things Dark Souls advertises is that the player can attain any weapon in the game. This is true, except for two weapons: The Four Kings Sword (which I'd considered making a riddle for) and the Great Mace. There is also only one Knight in the entire game outfitted with this weapon.
We screech and we claw and in time it will fall
from the hands of the one whom swings it.
This line simply describes your battle with it's lone, and only owner. At the end of the battle, it often drops the weapon on the ground during it's death animation: where sadly it will vanish, never to grace the world of Dark Souls again.
RIDDLE #5
Fiery flares drop everywhere
Like rounded pools filled with despair
Yet shields worn by ashen knights
receive only a short reprieve
Gathers Dust in an old tomb
Sought for treasures never took
twixt between it's always there
and with it's flare it spreads despair
Weakened force we crash we fall
In crystals, chaos, or faithful Gall
we look upon the flare once more
and in a flash it then will fall.
CATEGORY: people
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Stray Demon
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- Fiery flares drop everywhere
>The stray demon throws out his explosion attacks frequently
Like rounded pools filled with despair
>Embelished description of the attack
Yet shields worn by ashen knights
receive only a short reprieve
>Black Knight Shield, while possessing very high fire defense, has only 25% magic defense, and despite appearances the explosion causes magic damage, so a shield of an ashen knight only delays death for a very short time.
Gathers Dust in an old tomb
>It's battlefield is a tomb
Sought for treasures never took
>While most players grab the slab, far fewer take the rusted iron ring.
twixt between it's always there
>The demon can be seen within 4 seconds of the game starting.
and with it's flare it spreads despair
>Repeating a previous point.
Weakened force we crash we fall
In crystals, chaos, or faithful Gall
>Describing what our character may be like
we look upon the flare once more
and in a flash it then will fall.
>Defeating the Stray Demon.

- RIDDLE #6
From darkest pits to highest peaks
A lifeless thing, its fate so bleak
The light is gone, it can't repeat
Fading away, the task complete.
CATERGORY: misc.
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Trading Skull Lantern for Fog Ring
I would've accepted "Taking the Necromancer Skull to Snuggly" or variants like that.
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
From darkest pits to highest peaks
You get the lantern from the floor of the Tomb of Giants, or from the Catacombs with a bit of luck from a drop, and to make the trade have to take it to the Asylum, which is on top of a mountain that's surrounded by other mountains.
A lifeless thing, its fate so bleak
The skull is a skull, in this case it's literally a "Lifeless thing". It's one of the few items in the game that I don't think anybody uses in combat, and most people probably don't even use it to light the TotG either (It's the worst option IMO). It's fate is bleak because the best use for it is to throw it away.
The light is gone, it can't repeat
The "Light" refers to both the light the lantern makes, as well as the light of the Item Orb, suggesting that you can't "Undo" the trade. The second part is just referencing that each trade is once per playthrough.
Fading away, the task complete.
Fading away is another reference to the item orbs, as well as referencing the actual physical effect of the Fog Ring you receive. The final part is just saying that the trade's been completed once you pick up the Ring.
RIDDLE #7
An oak tree's heart is where I'm your finest treasure
A painted trap the finest pleasure
An eye could bring you straight into me
An eye could bring "friends" straight through me
Fond memories are made through me
Fond injuries are forged with me
Prisons are found only with me
Light Gwyn's fire and you'll come straight to me
Run out of estus, and you may meet me
Touching my bones could take you to me
Some magicians, claim they know me
Some cats promise to take you to me
I promise friend, we'll often meet
but bleak is that fate, because you'll never stay with me.
CATERGORY: misc.
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Traveling/Warping
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- An oak tree's heart is where I'm your finest treasure
The Great Hollow is easiest left by warping.
A painted trap the finest pleasure
The painted world of ariamis is only reached throuh a warp.
An eye could bring you straight into me
The red eye orb, the blue eye orb
An eye could bring "friends" straight through me
The Eyes of death, friends is written in quotations because the people sent aren't really friendly.
Fond memories are made through me
One memorizes the locations they can warp too if they play the game too much, and most people consider Dark Souls a fond memory.
Fond injuries are forged with me
A reference to both dueling and to dying: both are experiences many people find, while frustrating, fun.
Prisons are found only with me
Without cheating, the only way to reach the dukes prison is a warp.
Light Gwyn's fire and you'll come straight to me
Beating the game warps you to the beginning.
Run out of estus, and you may meet me
You only may meet a teleportation: You could easily get back to the bonfire without dying.
Touching my bones could take you to me
A homeward bone takes you through a warp. But nothing stops you from using one even if you're right next to the bonfire.
Some magicians, claim they know me
Homeward: It's a miracle.
Some cats promise to take you to me
Alvina teleports you to the forest to fight.
I promise friend, we'll often meet
Teleportation happens often in Dark Souls
but bleak is that fate, because you'll never stay with me
Teleportation is short lived.
RIDDLE #8
I stand tall
Though I fly
I also fall
Hear my cry
I'll spoil your fun
Prepare to die
Or else run!
CATEGORY: people
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Harpies
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- I stand tall
literally and figuratively harpies are tall and perch on the highest points in the painted world.
Though I fly
I also fall
For some reason these stupid things can fall to their death even though they fly. The winged demons in Anor Londo have wings, but hop without really flying; much like chickens. It's also a metaphor for their prowess as an enemy, they can be quite tough at times and other times they figuratively and literally fall flat on their face.
Hear my cry
I'll spoil your fun
They shreak before they do that jump on your head attack that you have to sit and watch forever, even if death is inevitable... very annoying; not fun...
Prepare to die
Or else run!
The aforementioned attack is often fatal, so avoiding it at all costs is advisable. And I fit "prepare to die" into my riddle, yay! :|
RIDDLE #9
I raise my head up in the air
This mock fills you with despair
When I'm done I fade away
But if you kill me you'll shout HOORAY!!!
CATEGORY: people
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- Crystal Lizard
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- I raise my head up in the air
They raise their head in the air
This mock fills you with despair
When they raise their head I think it's taunting me which makes me sad
When I'm done I fade away
They fade away if you can't get them
But if you kill me you'll shout HOORAY!!!
I don't know about you guys but if I get twinkling titanite and a slab that warrants a celebration
RIDDLE #10
Long have you sought,
long have you fought,
long have you thought,
your quest was for naught.
But then I was brought,
by that which you caught.
Now tell me, I am what?
CATEGORY: misc
ANSWER:- Spoiler:
- The Sun
EXPLANATION:- Spoiler:
- The riddle tells the tale of Solaire. It then demands that you tell it what it was that Solaire was looking for.
Long have you sought,
(Solaire sought his own sun)
long have you fought,
(Solaire did a lot of fighting)
long have you thought,
your quest was for naught.
(Not sure if it was actually that long, but time in Lordran is distorted, so it can be. It refers to the point where he's starting to give up hope that he'll ever find his own sun)
But then I was brought,
by that which you caught.
(He caught the sunlight maggot, put it on his head. The maggot brought him his very own sun)
Now tell me, I am what?
The hint actually aimed at multiple things. First of all, that 'long' shouldn't be taken too literally. But also, Solaire references to this when you first meet him.
*I encourage you to promote yourself. Now is the time to talk smack (no trolling of course). Are you the best?!?!...
...OH YA?!?!?! Prove it! 8)
*To the guessers. DEFEND YOUR FAVORITE!!!! Now is the time! There's a title on the line for crying out loud!
