Noobs to PvP and Hacks Empty Noobs to PvP and Hacks

Post by DelightfulShow Thu Mar 21, 2013 12:11 am

First, let me clarify: when I say 'noobs' I mean actual new players, not "scrubs."

    Now,
the point of all of this is that I would like to get a general opinion
from the community concerning players who are new to PvP, if they should
use hacks, or if it is just ultimately a cripple to anyone who wants to
get better. Now, by hacks I don't mean infinite health and Havel's
armor with DWGR and Hornet ring or anything like that; I mean:
    1.)Should
someone have to go through the whole game and legitimately make their
build, or is it okay to use cheats to bypass the game if one is only
    interested in PvP?
2.)Is using infinite stamina a giant cripple on someone's PvP experience?
    3.)Is
it fine for someone to have max attunement slots and fill them with WOG
(or something else usually seen as overpowered/scrubbish) as long as
they only have that to kill gankers when they are looking for a fair
    fight?
4.)Is there ever a legitimate reasonable time to use any form of hacks?
5.)Is it okay if they use hacks just for the benefit of the community? i.e. "Giftwraithing"

No Hacks of any kind should be allowed! You kill the experience that new players should get when they first play the game. Getting advice, tips and help is fine but you harm everyone by hacking. There is nothing good to gain by hacking things like infinite stamina and att slots. That just takes the challenge away and a new player won't learn skill. Also there is no hack that benefits the community.

If you want help to get a build going faster call a trader.
Cheating in PvP only means you lack skill and to me you're no better than those lazy giant tanks.
Infinite stamina? Okay I can just stunlock, bleed, and tick people off. Again no skill. Balance your usage.
Max slots? Abusive as hell. No one would even have to try to fight back. No point in doing that for any reason.
    No legitimate reason for hacks!
Giftwraithing can be done with traders and the souls earned to buy things in bulk.

That's my view. Overall I hate hacks and the people who use them.

I agree wholeheartedly with Soris, Hacks of any kind are not only forbidden, I think the offense should be punishable with a ban.

You do nothing but harm your own experience as well as the community.

Even if you are only in the game for the PVP experience you should still give the PVE a chance and not just glide over it the first time through. That's the worst thing you can do as a player to yourself.

Now with that being said if you've already beaten this game and use hacks in PVE I'm not really against it mainly because it doesn't affect anyone in a negative way. That of course, is the big problem because PVE and PVP intertwine with each other when you use humanity, so if your in human form and using hacks you could non-intentionally be destroying someone's experience with the game, even if it is a very small amount of their experience.

Summed up: Don't use hacks in PVP your hurting everyone including yourself by destroying the challenge of PVP. You can use them in PVE if you want but just be aware if you use it your first time, your only hurting yourself.

Frankly I don't give a sh*t if someone uses save editor legit.
Many of my DkS friends use the save editor to make builds for PvP faster.
After all we all have played through this game million times, there is so little that PvE gives to players who focus mainly on PvP anymore.

Thats all good and all but he wasnt talking about experienced players like you or myself. He was talking about beginners who've never experienced the game.

These are acceptable, except 2, that's just the same as having infinite health IMO

But i don't think new players should use hacks at all, it just has too many downsides

IMO, if you play online, you shouldn't hack. If you're not playing online (and will have no online interactions), then do whatever you want.

Hacking is fine until you interact with other users in a malicious manner.

I've ran into several hackers that only summon phantoms on NG+7, -tell- them what they just did, and told me they are just "here to observe" and watched me play through the level. That was cool, I didn't mind it.

I've then ran into hackers with 20,000 stamina, second chance, and 60,000 HP that spam R1 with a curved sword when you spawn.

    That's not OK.

For me, the only time a hack is reasonable is when you're trying to make a discovery. As in clipping through walls to find secret zones, getting unused items to see what they are, digging up unused dialogue, killing invulnurable NPC's. That sort of thing.

No kind of hacking should be allowed in PvP.
