What do I do?

Every time I turn on my computer, I get these messages that won't go away.
The message says: "The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server respone was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at ". Nothing. It just ends at the 'at', and the only option I have it "OK". If I click it, it goes away, and the same message appears a couple minutes later. If I don't click it, another message appears a couple minutes later anyway. Either way, my screen begins to get clogged with the messages. The only way I've found so far to fix it is to wait it out for about 3 hours, then a message appears that let's me close them all and they don't come back... until I restart my computer. Is there any way to fix this?

Are you using some kind of sofware sending mails automaticaly?
If not, you may have a nasty thing on your computer trying to send things without your knowledge.
I'm not 100% sure, but that would be my first conclusion.
Maybe using an anti spyware and maybe an other firewall could resolve the problem.

An other possibility could be a bad configuration of outlook or a similar program. Then again, it's just an idea, I don't use outlook, but the error is clearly related to something sending mail using a SMTP server.

I don't think it's related to that. you might have something else you're not aware of...
I would scan my PC for potential malicious files, programs, etc... first.
If that doesn't resolve anything, I don't know. But at least, a little scan won't do anything bad.

Edit : If this behavior is not too old, you could also try to restaure your system to what it was before it happened the first time. It's possible and relatively easy to do if you use windows 7 for instance.
