I'm looking for some experience mixing and mastering so if anyone has some projects they're recording or anything I'd be happy to mix/master them free of charge. Anything goes, from rock to instrumental to electronic I really don't care.

Re: Musicians on here?
Hello! I make some songs from time to time, though mostly I don't record them or finish them lol
The only song I finished (mastered and all) is actually my number 18 song lol, so I have 17 songs unfinished haha
I'm kind of amateur when it comes to mixing and mastering, I just researched a bit on the internet, downloaded lots of plugins (not legit) for Mixcraft 6 (legit 8)), and tweaked things until I liked them (following procedure instructed by experts in videos or their websites).
These days I've been having a lot of inspiration, so I may have something to give you at some point, but I would like you to explain what hell would you exactly do with it haha (what you mean with mixing and mastering).
Oh BTW, I mostly do alternative instrumental rock.

Re: Musicians on here?
I used to write music but I got bored with clubbing and the music in general so I've pretty much stopped because of it (also the fact I had serious health issues like nearly dying due to bowel disease).
Here's a remix I've put up on Youtube
I did put my remix of Cosmic Gate Fire Wire but the assholes who own the copyright slapped their ban hammer on me. I could understand if it was some edited mix of the original but the only thing I sampled was the fire wire vocal, all other work was my own synth design and was never for profit.
I might finally put up my own original stuff that I've kept to myself and friends. I've been pretty reluctant to share due to fact someone might steal my ideas and claim them as their own without a leg for me to stand on. Even though I have the zipped archives done years ago I don't want to have a Timberland situation.

Re: Musicians on here?
@chiz just pm me and I'll give you an email adress you can send the tracks to.
As far as my process goes its really simple. To start I ad post production effects like echo reverb and so on. I then apply eq to the various tracks that need it and I finish off using a transient editor. After that I move route the tracks through a master output and apply harmonic enhancers a master eq and a 4-band master compressor. Then I finish it off with a mastering limiter and work on bringing the volume up and usually try and match it with a professionally produced song. I usually aim to produce full bodied high energy (or at least as high as the song allows) mixes.
@steveswede it can be intimidating putting your own stuff out because of both critics and thieves. A band in my area had their ep stolen by a band over on the east coast. They uploaded all of their songs and claimed they were theirs. In the end it was easier just to let the people make a few bucks off of them than it was to try and pursue them.

So I would've to send you raw track recordings? Without DAW-effects or anything?

Re: Musicians on here?
I can work either way. If you use things like flangers chorus' and wah's and you have your own preferred settings then go ahead and throw those on there. Same if you use a certain kind of amp setting or distortion. Just avoid having compression or eq on any of your tracks.
I CAN master already mixed and comp'd tracks but there's less I can do with them.

I can play the butt trumpet.
I'm also somewhat competent with the a$$ trombone, the colonic tuba, and the intestinal saxophone.

I've (poorly) recorded some guitar. I can link you to my site that has the mp3 files. May or may not be worth your trouble but you're free to run wild with them

I cant do much to fix the quality of a recording or an mp3 but if you can send the .wav's over I can try my best haha.

Re: Musicians on here?
I've been playing guitar for around 15 years but when it comes to recording I don't really know where to start
Recently purchased a Line 6 amp, not sure if that helps? Would be death metal type music that I'd wanna record. Have to learn how to get some drums etc in there as well...

Critics don't bother me as I write music for myself than to please others but I can understand people getting upset if all they get is negative criticism as I'm sure a lot of people have a lot of pride in their music. My only issue with thieves is that they don't credit me for what I've done. I'm perfectly happy for anyone to remix and even make a profit off my work just as long as they recognize my creative works.

Re: Musicians on here?
@flankydizzle sounds like you need to get your hands on a daw and a drum sampler. You can get them for free @vst planet's website or you can buy some entry level ones. Line 6 has a pod studio thats perfect for guitarists. You can also pick up programs like ezdrummer that basically make drums for you.
