How to look at things in a pessimistic manner.

Post by User1 on Sun Mar 17, 2013 4:50 pm

I'm sure many of you already know how to do this, and by that, I mean look at things in a very dark way. Looking at things as they are in the cruel reality. Here is an example of what I mean:

Near where I live, there is a place called Williamson Park. In that park, there is the Ashton Memorial, which was built in 1908. It was dedicated to Lord Ashton's wife. Anyway, it is a huge building made entirely out of ornate stone and marble, which gets more and more narrow towards the top, eventually, at the top, there is a 1cm thick pole, which shows the 4 directions.

You know what? The building is so big, hundreds, if not thousands died during the construction. In a time where safety for workers is minimal, and there is no safety equipment, loads of working men will have died. Ascending to the top will have killed people, nevermind the task of getting stone up to the top, and shaping it in a curved manner. All of this was so Lord Ashton did'nt feel so bad about the death of his wife.

His own feelings cost the lives of so many, was it really worth it? Did all those people deserve to die, so someone felt a bit better?

This is a slightly depressing to write guide on how to look at everything in a horrible way. Just think of as many different things as possible, such as going to a zoo. Those animals have been taken from their exotic natural habitat, and for what? Just so people can take pictures of them in a tiny, un-natural environment. Humans make money off trapping these animals so people can see them.

And that is how to look at everything in a depressive manner. It may plague your thoughts, like me, all of the bad things about anything. It may also help you, if someone never shuts up about something like how you should visit a zoo.

I already do this, actually I think a lot of people do this.

Also I believe that many of those animals are born into captivity, letting them free would be more harmful to them than letting them stay. I can't say I've ever been to a zoo either so I really don't know what goes on there.

I second this motion, but not nearly as much as I used to. I'm usually optimistic now a days.

We are born simply so that we can breed further and then just die and get our "eternal peace" in some rotten wooden box.

The grass is always deader on the other side.

The glass is half drunk, and it looks like they back washed.

Life is like a box of chocolates- expensive and full of nasty flavors you didn't expect.

Everything I need to be happy is inside of me, that's why I cut myself.

If you're tired of disappointment, give pessimism a try!
