Bed of Chaos Left or Right?

When dealing with the Bed of Chaos do you:

choose the left side first, where chaos is flowed over it, and its bathed in evil.

or

choose the right side first, where chaos is cascaded over it, and its cloaked in evil.

Which side do you choose first?

It doesn't matter I'm going to die regardless.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I tend to go left.

I always go right because I did the first time I fought it.


Ironically, since I'm a nerd....I have a statistics based policy on dungeon exploring which I abandoned in this fight.

My default dungeon crawling is based off the premise that game developers will mathematically have the "awesome treasure" equally distributed amongst possible pathways. Rather than allow myself to be wrong an increased amount of times by choosing a random path to explore I hedge my bets and take the statistically safest strategy that allows for my chances of success to always equal 1/n in which n= the number of possible paths I can take. Therefore, in my lifetime of gaming, in all situations which present two directions of exploration I should be correct 50% of the time.


In other words, whenever I don't know which way to go I say:

"Always go left"

I pick left, because that's my natural inclination for everything.

Always left, otherwise it's not natural for me

I actually always went right, then I intended to use a bow on the left buuuuut... I never had one on me But I recently did a playthrough with the DWGR, and I saw a video a while back explaining dodging against the swipe. I didn't know that the i frames were reliable here. So, I did left, then right is very much easier to dodge against. And I only died once trying to actually get the dodge down.

Regardless, I've never ever ever ever ever ever done BoC without dying, even when I quit out.

Really dislike that boss, always go right, then do the quit reload thing.

Right, because it doesn't start reacting till you smash the first bubble and it's easier to knock out the left bubble with arrows, so getting rid of the trickiest one first makes sense.

exactly what slakemoth and sunbro said, though i dont usually save and quit any more because im usually done leveling up by that point and loosing souls and humanity doesnt matter any more, though the walk back does suck if you time it right when your leaving the right bulb you can block and the arm will drag you back to the front.

I always go left first. Did like this the first time, still do it like this now.

Right side first. The left side can be done with arrows, so there is less navigating the broken floor (with the witch hitting you off).

Right first. Done it like that since my first playthrough.

Always done left first, but after this thread I will do right first with any toon capable of wielding a bow.

I like how the pole is literally 50 / 50 right now.

I went left out of intuition when i first visited that uncomfortable bedroom furniture and did so in my following encounters. Murphys Law applies...

Left first, always. The right side is easier to run while the bed swipes at you.

well normally I get two friends to join with me and have them decided on who gets left or right, I just go for that sweet center

i helped a host past the Bed of Chaos just a little while ago. i so the host would stay put while i made the first run at the BoC's orbs. i actually managed to kill the damnable thing in one try! i first went right then i ran all the way around to the left. then i went straight up the middle for the win. the host didn't have to do a thing! it was a proud moment for me.

then i thought to myself "that was easy" and went on to do the same the exact same thing in my world. i first went right then i ran to the left and "you died". then i tried to go left again and "you died". so i finally got the orb on the left and "you died". so now all i have to do is "you died" go down "you died" the *** "you died" gawd damn it "you died" i just need to get the last "you died" "you died" BLOODY ***! "YOU DIED" is now seared into my nightmares!

*curls up in the fetal position and cries*

Click down the right thumb stick: which ever way the game tells you to go, do the opposite first. Completionism!

(But really: always right first. I find the right side more annoying, so I prefer to get it over with.)
