I get invaded, the dude skips all over my screen (lag, not the forest ring) and 1 hit backstabs me.
This **** happens repeatedly.
How do I counter this nonsense?
Thanks.
This is the guy who takes jokes too seriously.lorenzo110 wrote:Unfortunately this is part of the game. To the person that recommended the guy get a better network connection you have no clue how lag transpires. Case in point.
Two days ago I was helping a guy in the forest when some invader appears. We hear the sound of him arriving but his image skips in and out of the screen. Now mind you up to that point there were no other issues with previous invaders and lag. But this one the lag was just horrible. He proceeds to back stab me then disappear off my screen again. He does the same to the summoner. Finally but just blind chance because he was not even close to me I land a backstab on him even though he was 10 feet aways from me. So me being very well adept and chain backstabs with my Artorias I wait behind him. Once the animation ends I strike again but all of a sudden he is gone from my screen and backstabbing the summoner. This fight just turned into a huge joke due to the lag on his part. The summoner dies and we reconnect again afterwards fighting invaders without any issue.
Then our laggy invader comes back but this time as I catch him again in a backstab while he is literally yards away from me in my screen he is booted from the summoners world because of his network connection. We continue our game play without any lag coming from other invaders what so ever. So this is an individual issue with a persons connection though it is not always the summoners but the invaders connection that can be at fault as well. "From" or whoever decided to choose this peer to peer connection for co op purposes made a very bad decision. They really didn't test this type of connection very well at all and the impact it would have on the game play. That to me is just sad but must be accepted when playing this game. But it does leave the game hackable to those that are network saavy and able to take advantage of this flaw in the game. Just my two cents on this issue.

I understand that you were just answering his question, but really, you took that guys statement too seriously.lorenzo110 wrote:To Dom:
If you would have read the message I stated I could not land a chain back stab because of the invaders lag. He was the only invader that had this type of drastic lag. The ones we found before and after did not have this lag issue at all.
And to those that say I'm being too serious. All I am doing is answering the guys question. Lag is something that is in this game to stay. As of yet there is no way to over come this issue at all. Even for the most experianced fighters in this game. It does not matter how good you are when you encounter this problem it really puts you at a disadvantage. The only thing to do is keep fighting and deal with it.
This is not exclusive to japanese fighters. I have played well over 2000 hours of Dark Souls and have seen it all. I encounter this with Euro fighters as well as Japanese and here in America as well. How do I know this? By sending an email to the invaders and asking them their point of origin. Some because of their connections, with or without their knowledge of knowing its happening, have an advantage against other players. I have this guy on my friends list who is from Europe. It never fails that when I help him or encounter him as an invader his world has really bad lag. And other friends of mine who have fought or helped him have told me the same thing as well. It only occurs with him. Whether its his internet connection or what who knows. But like I said before it is something that happens in this games mechanics at times and we as players have grown used to it. Just like the issue when you are helping a summoner and all of a sudden they die by some invisible invader that you could not see or attack. It is no different then that. Most of the time the people causing it do not realize this is occurring so it is unintentional, and more then likely out of their hands anyways because there are so many factors involved on what could be the cause of it. Again just my opinion from a veteran player. I don't expect anyone else to agree with me on this. Just answering the guys question the same way I would hope someone would answer mine. Concise and to the point without making a joke out of it. Thats the point of this community. To help others so that they can enjoy this game as much as we do. Again I don't expect everyone to agree with me so please lets not turn this into a flaming contest. Thank you
