    A flicker, a flare
    You're almost there
when down comes a tower of steel
and with great rewards comes greater a peril
when this freight of a beast slays you.

Although it is quick it also is slow
    Sought after by all
    Yet attained by but one
We screech and we claw and in time it will fall
from the hands of the one whom swings it.

The Demons Greathammer is not correct.

    I don't mean to intrude.

But this is exactly how it goes. Rynn did exactly what was required to post her riddle in accordance with rule #4.

Fox, made an obvious statement of forgoing the riddle, and Rynn posted.

Simple as that. And just a reminder to successful guessers, there are NO rainchecks.

One more note, if Rynn and someone else would have posted riddles at the same time...the riddle with the earliest timestamp would have been considered valid in accordance with rule 1a.

Nice riddle Rynn...I'll get updating ina sec.

I'm just gonna go with a long shot. Could it in any way have anything to do with Sif and Artorias?

Edit: Le guess: Artorias sword, which is later on held by Sif.

That was more or less my guess. I just don't know how to take it further. :|

Edit: I'll edit it to make my guess more clear though, because it's obviously not, and i can see why. I'm not even sure where i'm going with it any way. silly

    The Iron Golem.

    According to belief, a golem:

    Spoiler:
"In Jewish folklore, a golem (pron.: /ˈɡoʊləm/ goh-ləm; Hebrew: גולם‎) is an animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter. The word was used to mean an amorphous, unformed material in Psalms and medieval writing.[1]
The most famous golem narrative involves Judah Loew ben Bezalel, the late-16th-century Chief Rabbi of Prague. There are many tales differing on how the Golem was brought to life and afterwards controlled. In the Prague tale he was an entity created by the Rabbi Loew out of clay that was brought to life by inserting into his mouth a shem (capsule containing the Name of God) with a magic formula. The rabbi also wrote the word emet (Hebrew word for truth) on his forehead. To immobilize it, he pulled the shem out.[2] In the movie The Emperor and the Golem, the shem had the form of a small ball placed in his forehead. In Polish tales and version of Brothers Grimm he was brought to life by inscripting the word emet (truth) on his forehead and to deactivate him, the first letter of the word emet was rubbed out, leaving the Hebrew word met, meaning dead."

    Quoted from the wikipedia:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem

Therefor, basing it on that fact, one could consider the Golem a weapon.

    I am a weapon, what am I?

"A flicker, a flare" The light of the sun, as you get outside to the arena.

"A tower of steel" You face the Golem.

"Although it is quick it also is slow" The Golem is slow, but at the same time, it can be quick with some of the moves it does, like the grab.

"We screech and we claw and in time it will fall" You can make it fall...?

That's what i have. Doubt that's it though.

    This guess needs clarification.

Is it the Greatsword of Artorias or the Greatsword of Artorias (cursed)?

Secondly, the Golem itself is outside the category parameters.

Rynn clearly gives "weapon" as a category:

    2) A riddle submitted must contain a category. They are as follows:

-Items: This includes all the items in the game, as well as the keys. ie green blossom, peculiar doll, bequethed lord soul, weapon smith box, etc.

-People: Any person directly in game, or hinted to in lore. This would also include enemies, bosses, optional bosses, etc.

-Weapons: This includes weapons, armor, shields, ammunition, spells, pyros, miracles, and rings.

-Misc: This includes anyhting outside of the other categories.

Using the categories outside of explicitly stating which category your riddle falls into is a clear violation of the rules.

If Rynn's riddle does not fall under the "weapon" category, I will allow her to clarify.

This is a one time deal to clear up confusion.

If at any time a riddle is submitted with the intention of deceiving the guessers regarding a category, the riddle will be excluded and removed from the competition. I'm not saying Rynn has done this, but this needs clarified. For future reference.

There's also a chance a riddle could be accidentally placed into the wrong category by the author. For instance the "misc" could be mistaken for something that clearly should have been placed in the "people" category.

This will surely be reflected in the "riddle off" poll, as I'm sure guessers would not appreciate being intentionally decieved by the author regarding something as simple as a category.

So now, Rynn, if you could please verify your category, we can move on.

    Thanks in advance.

    The power of loopholes.

Like i said, technically the Golem can still be seen as a weapon.

-Weapons: This includes weapons, armor, shields, ammunition, spells, pyros, miracles, and rings.

You didn't specifically say what a weapon is. Therefor "weapons" may as well be the Golem. I'm gonna stick with my guess until Rynn says if it's a yes or no.

Also, Artorias Sword. I meant the one Artorias carries on him that Sif later carries. Not the swords you can actually use. While technically it is the same, it's also not. tongue

I've already explained myself, and why the Iron Golem makes perfect sense as a weapon as well. Either way, this topic seems way to strict, even for me. So i'm out.

    Good luck with the riddles!
