You know instead of doing the whole reserved thing you can just continue editing your original post. I assume you did that because you wanted to add more photos?

You have talent. I'm an art student. I see student work all the time and you have more of an eye for it than a lot of people do. I especially like the first one and the one looking down the row of trees. I love that 'tree hallway' effect. I have a couple hiking trail photos like that and they're always my favorites

The reason for the reserved posts are because i wanted to easen up the work for myself. I don't want one big pile of photos just spamming you up and lagging once you open the window, and rather than just editing into several ''SPOILER'', it felt easier having a couple of reserved posts.

Thanks for the kind words though, i'm always looking to improve myself, so critisism doesn't hurt either, just so all of you know.

Wow. Those are really good. The pipes and two wrought iron ones (fifth and last pic) are my favorites. The lighting and focus is right on. My only critique on any of the pics would be the deliberate lens flares. The one with the clouds and through the trees by the building are threatening to take over the picture. The one with the reflected water escapes this by having the reflection of the flare too which balances the picture and lets the eye wander more naturally across the picture. This is of course from just typical photography ideas (and I'm no expert) and the goal might have been to have the flares take control of the picture. Anyway, Praise the Sun!

I am studying photography and journalism, though it's mainly journalism. However that was a mistake on my part, though nothing i regret. But i do, however plan on becoming a photographer, so yes, i do study photography.

    @Skare

I mainly take my photos with a thought behind them. Some kind of story, so i consider every photo personal. It's my way of expressing myself. I share with you my best photos. Those i were happy with, thus, i can say, that it was all planned. However, i will take what you said into consideration. As always, thanks for all the lovely posts. Always appreciated.

Praise the sun Praise the Sun

    Edit: @Pendant

I suppose it is. I don't really think any place is ''not'' beatiful. I would say, it depends on the way you look at it. As a photographer, i have a hard time finding things beautiful because i demand a lot, thus it may seem hard at times. Especially since i wish for my photos to become personal, to explain myself, or a story as part of myself. I would however say, that i prefer Scotland or Greece. Shrug

Mr. Tart, can we turn this into a landscape photography thread, or do you want to keep it your own?

I ask because I've got some photos like yours, but I don't wanna hijack.

EDIT: I'm just going to make my own, but don't view it as a competition. Your excellent photos just reminded me that I've got a few good ones that other people enjoyed, so I'll share them here like you did.

Kind of too late to reply i suppose, but i figured i'd do it anyway. The idea behind this topic was based on the function another forum had. You would have your own ''portfolio'' of threads. And i just so happened to be having a photo thread in my portfolio at the forums, so i really just felt like doing it again, as i really like sharing my own photos. I was considering just posting in the art museum thread, but i really wanted to have my own topic of photos, so i just had to make one. Other than that, i'm happy i inspired you to share yours as well. big grin

This might derail the thread a little bit, but I thought you might like to know about this:

I made a coffee table type picture book from my photos on blurb.com for a Christmas present to my family and it really turned out fantastic. I wasn't sure how it would end up looking, especially because most my photos were taken with a point-and-shoot Olympus "tough" camera, but I am really surprised.

It is a bit expensive, but if you want to turn your photos into something physical that you can share with friends or family it is a really good way to do it.

The whole high standard for beauty thing will always bug me, but I do Like 1, 11, and 12.

When did you switch over from the 400d to the 1000d?

One new photo added to the first post. This one photo has a whole lot of meaning to me and is a metaphor for something personal. If interested in the backstory you can always message me about it, or any other photo.

As always, any advice is appreciated. Bow
