Its an awesome set, specially the torso piece. But its so big for samurais!

It really fits "nordic" builds tho

gough's armour plus the iron round shield while wielding a great axe or the golem axe (or both) is pretty bad ***.

i would be inclined to use either eastern (more persian i would guess) or bandit (mongol?) armour for a samurai build.

why isn't there a set of samurai armour in a souls games anyway? they have katanas, why not matching armour?

They were gonna have 2 samurai sets but they were cut in the end, as they were part of Shiva's questline.
As for armor, I think the brigand set looks slightly samuraiish, no?

Brigand chest is the closest, along with the hood and probably pants, though one of those hollow helms might look like a kabuto helmet.

goughs chest armor resembles that of a feudal era foot soldier if i've got my facts straight, a warrior class below that of samurai, something for skilled peasants is what i remeber of that class... funny thing i've always thought the cleirc chest piece had a bit of an eastern flair due to the little metal discs that guard the armpits and the crysanthemum (i think) design on them.

I made an elegant samurai and used the Waistcloth of the Channelers, combined with the Brigand Armor, Helm of Thorns (sunlight maggot also looked cool), and shadow gauntlets. I imagine you are going for something more rustic, though.

I'm going for something similar to that.
