What Happend!?!?!?!

Just looked in the book of guilty today (xbox btw) and everyone from 1-14 was a hacker #15 sent him a congrats msg and then 16-24 where also hacker and it continued with it alternating with real and hackers I stopped at 30 it was too much to bear

I really feel bad for you xbox and pc people sometimes.

and what worse is they dont hid it #1 on the list was lvl 5 with all stats maxed and the other where 20 to 100 I mean just its true what they say gamers are the #1 threat to gaming glad Dark Souls makes Great community's
forgot to mention the #1 spot read the bio and it said #1 spot in book forever this account will not exist anymore no surprises there and how could you be proud about hacking your way to the top too bad for that jerk the book resets after a few months

This is why I don't care about the book of the guilty.
Being high in it doesn't denote any level of skill, just how easy it is for you to win and that can be determined by any number of things including hornet rings.
The only reason the board isn't dominated by level 5's is that there are too many anti-griefers.
The place is also dependent on how many builds you have and how much time you have.

I just use the book of the guilty to look up my friends and see how much sin they have accumulated. Other than that its pretty useless.

i only look at the book to find out how much sin i currently have. which is never that much, i just don't collect as many indictments as i would like to.

I'm on PS3 and the leaders in my book of sin top out at around 7500, and have been that way for months (with one recently passing the #1 guy). None appear to be hacking?

Indeed, I actually got invaded by the No 1 dude and killed him without seeing any hacks.

It's not that hard to get within the top 1000 legitimately. I'm sure it's not even that hard to get into the top 100; the thing is that the top 50 is dominated by hackers.

Going back to what Avenger said, yes, it is extremely easy to pvp in stone armor with pyromancy. I feel that it is rewarding though. I mean, beating the majority of the game at level 1 (literally level one pyromancer) and then invading people, some of which are level +50, is extremely challenging and fun.

Well, it's been a few days and now I do see that hacker as my #1 in the book of the guilty on PS3. No torso, no stats, eleventy quabillion hitpoints, infinite unarmed damage. It was surprisingly depressing to see actually, I guess part of me still thought of the game as pure.

These guys have been here a week. I wish X-box would purge them from the leaderboard, I know they have such power.

Then why not? They have done this to other games but why this one? Is it not popular enough? Also I hate to say but I think we can agree that at this point the book is worthless. Heck I only use it to see how much I got.

Well if you really want to see something done then report any and all hacker that you see, especially those at the top of the list with known hacks. If everyone reports them, then they should be gone in no time. I make sure to report anyone that I see hacking to improve their rank or to grief in any way.

When the game was new I was very into the book, got into the top 20 at one point.

Then started a new DW and used him for the book instead and was working with a goal towards top ten, when all of a sudden all the hackers showed up, lol.

I still invade with him though, he is level 106 and, (I just checked), he is at 108 in the book. If I had the time and inclination I would go through and count how many hackers are in the top 107......maybe I made it to the top ten after all.

I would just really hope that by DSII the developers get on the hackers and remove them from the game. I mean this job would only take one person; it's not like we are asking for much. :|
