You could use a fire +10 weapon..
Thing is quelaags sword is far superior to that.. You could also use chaos plus 5, but that also humanity scales..
Having active humanity isnt really a 'risk' though in my opinion, really easy to farm for more

Out of the curve swords, the Paintguardian sword has the highest damage-per-second value, but almost no range whatsoever. If not that then just go for the falchion.

I would recomend the Uchigatana.
I also read the Gold Tracer is very good, but I haven't tried it yet.

If you're going with PvE, grab a Fire Falchion +10, if you're going for PvP, get a normal Falchion +15 so you can buff it with resins/spells. Just my opinion, but it's the way I've always pulled through.

Re: Substitute for Quelaggs furysword
yes a 10+ fal may work or a uchi ok so i know that just about everything in the game gets nuked by fire and chaos but for the demon ruins and lost ilzaieth(or however you spell it-_-) what would work there my intel is LOW so no magic or enchant...

Re: Substitute for Quelaggs furysword
I'd say use a Falchion +15, then use Gold Pine Resin on it once you get to the boss. Just farm some resin from the two giant mushrooms in the Darkroot Forest by the Enchanted Ember and you'll be good to go.blitzkrieg01282 wrote:yes a 10+ fal may work or a uchi ok so i know that just about everything in the game gets nuked by fire and chaos but for the demon ruins and lost ilzaieth(or however you spell it-_-) what would work there my intel is LOW so no magic or enchant...

+15 would do the most damage if you got 30 - 40 dex. (Most people claim 30 dex is crap, but it's actually pretty decent.)
If you got low dex, then use lightning +5, but not in the Burg at lvl 1 please.

WELL HELL. If you want a good weapon that has good range, good damage, and good speed, PICK UP ANY SPEAR. Demon Spear, pike, or silver knight spear specifically!

I'm a big fan of the falchion and believe that it is under-appreciated.

I approve of Falchion.
@EAS: Offhand Falchion OP, needs nerf.

Re: Substitute for Quelaggs furysword
Kick->L1
Any stun-> L1
L1 during roll
Parry-> L1-> Riposte
Dead angling
BS canceling
Overall coolness factor:9001
And by the way, EAS, I dual wield it with the Broadsword. The combo potential is ridiculous.

Re: Substitute for Quelaggs furysword
The guardian sword with crystal magic and high dex does about 400 damage per two handed swing with very fast swings...only one downfall is range....but for pvc it is a great weapon

Re: Substitute for Quelaggs furysword
Nobody used to use the falchion. I remember somebody asked me what sword I was using.
I must have started the trend.
