[PS3] SL 55 PvP?

Do people PvP at SL 55 or around the SL that isn't just on organized events? Hmm this is hard to explain... So is there like a zone where people are constantly PvPing at about SL 55?

It's a great invading SL, even places like Blighttown can be open to you at that SL.

Yeah you can invade anywhere with a 55 build, but not very many people have a 55 specifically for dueling.

I've started doing so because of the events. It's obnoxious getting the to some of the gear and/or spells at that level. Besides that, I've actually had a lot of fun with it.

Oh yeah me too! More fun than my 120 even. It's gratifying wrecking a high level build with a 55.

I think there's too much 1 shotting going on in the SL 55 range. Then again all I use is magic...

I don't think so. If you think about it it doesn't make much sense to stay at such low SL. Arena is up to SL 50. The SL is ruled by elementals and glass cannons, it's meant for invading. TBH it doesn't make sense in any way to me. It only got popular here because the admins seemed to be biased towards the dark side lol. It's the SL of Billy's darkwraith covenant, if you're so interested you should ask to join, although they don't have an FC for dueling.

Invade anywhere at that level and you will most likely get invasions, and SL55 is my fave now because it invokes more unique builds to be viable. I.E whips can kill quicker due to lower health

50 is an "on the way" ledge that is a viable pause point for people on their way to higher levels and an approachable point for people first tasting pvp. The range is expanded to include 55 to be mindful of the people on these forums who make 55 for covenants or co-op (as Befowler and myself do). 50 also allows people to preserve arena builds.

So while not perfect, it is a ledge that can be worked with for a variety of people, tastes. This then results in the broadest possible particpation which is the goal of these events. We are actively trying to build strong community bonds with these. We don't make arbitrary choices; we put a lot of thought into what would be the best thing to attract and bring people together. I like to think we did a good job with it, but meh, what do we know about community building...

I agree 55 is a good level. For one it's a bit different from the 100, 120, 200 'usual suspects' that you see around everywhere. The best thing though is the fact you can pvp almost anywhere beyond the 2 bells by invasions..

Also rather than make people work their *** off to level up to 100/120 for an event, having 50-55 works a lot better, so people who can't play as much (or go through the game as fast, i.e newer players), can get to that level quickly and participate.

It's just an ideal level to encourage max participation. Obviously to some it'll be 'inferior' to the higher level builds but oh well, I like the change up once in a while.
