    Making builds all the way up to sl 99 or 120 takes a tremendous amount of time and just gets boring after about the 5 or 6 build =/ so I was wondering if people would be willing to lower it.. I was thinking maybe sl 60-70? The builds still maybe able to work such as this example: http://mmdks.com/199u

    Idk I'm curious to see what people think.

    No. I think 120-130 should still be the goal for final builds.

    The forum events are level 55, and people that participate post it's a great PvP level. I think level 100 - 120 is good, but it's easy to put lots of points on everything you want. I think level 55 makes point placement more challenging.

    My favorite level for PVP is around 25. With pyromancy and elemental weapons being OP it makes fights quick and deadly. You can't afford even one mistake.

    I think that the higher soul levels work in the sense that they stop the ability to one shot people easily as most have high vitality. However, point placement becomes far less important in that soul level and it is viable to make most builds effectively.
    I think sl55 suffers from the fact you can rather easily one shot people with spells and quality builds are impossible so you have no real variety in the weapons you use. Buff builds also suffer heavily at that soul level.
    Overall I think soul level 120 is the best, although it is far from ideal.

    I'm fine with 100-120, but maybe you can find a group of people to set-up some duels in the 60-70 if you're that interested.

    Are you kidding me. If you lower the sl to 60-70 everyone will start using low requirements weapons like katanas, rapiers, claymores and so on. Then every one of them will be elemental. For example, you can't make a build that uses a demon machete at sl 70. You can make one but it's not gonna be viable at all. 120-130 is good because it provides the most variety.

    Don't get me wrong, I have an SL99 toon and an SL120 for PVP but I think SL55 is brilliant!
    You have to make some sacrifices in certain areas and choose to specialise in others.. I think it takes a lot more thought and is a lot more enjoyable at lower levels... plus it's quicker to put a toon together and newbies can also join in the fun... there is also a better chance of others being able to host.
    For us experienced players who really want to max out gear through NG++etc its also a challenging experience.
    I've just made an SL55 with the Claymore & polearms and didn't much like it (too slow) but restarting is a lot of fun and not an issue at all...
    I reckon keep SL55 as an option for a bit of fun, If you want to get more serious then stick to 120.

    I prefer SL 50 PvP, but I only prefer it -because- everyone heads for level 100. If SL 50 was the PvP level people would mini-max, which would result in tons of pyromancy and elemental weapon gouges everywhere. Level 120 is best level for "fair" PvP.

    That's why we picked it after all.

    120 was chosen as the carryover from the Demon's Souls meta. However, diminishing returns and stuff like End were different between both games. I think the meta ledge needed to be tweaked away from 120 as a result, but not certain in which direction.

    120 its getting almost no action after DLC. Burg and Kiln, the old duels arenas, are pretty much dead except for a few japanese people. You can also stay human in areas like demons ruins, TotG and the archives for an hour and get no invasions.


    I can only find action with SL 100/55 in the DLC areas and thats it.

    I say no. IMO, it is a good balance between variety and min/maxing.

    In my opinion lvl 100 is the way to go and stay. personally i think that by lvl 120 builds start to become the same. There are so many spellsword builds out there that don't have to sacrifice anything because 120 is high enough to virtually make 2 builds in one. I feel that around lvl 100 people start to be more like individuals. To make a good caster/ spellsword at lvl 100 takes alot of sacrifice into other stats and that makes it a more risky play for more power. Didn't mean to offened anyone just my own thoughts cheers

I hope a library of 140-150 builds would then open and been seen for the truely glorified new soul level we never discovered because of fear. Fear like a crackhead has when going sober.

    couldn't have said it better! i never ever raised any char above slvl100 because the builds simply were complete by that point. you don't need 60vit on the 50int guy...or darkmoon blade on your quality guy...that's just fixing something that ain't broken and making every char the same. i'm glad that the dlc made slvl100 the norm.
