But you know what? It sucks for them even harder, because you're creeping them out and making them profoundly unhappy and uncomfortable. It may not seem fair that "creep" is their assessment of you, but: Surprise! It doesn't matter, and if you try to argue with them (or anyone else) that you're in fact not being a creep and the problem is with them not you, then you go from "creep" to "complete assbag." Sometimes people aren't going to like you or want to be near you. It's just the way it is.

That's some very good advice, but I think it ties into a much larger problem in general, a lot of people have self esteem issues and should learn to not define themselves by what others think of them(barring healthy self reflection, of course, improvement is good).

Please note that a lot of my "advice"(as it were) comes from being observant and using common sense/critical thinking. That being said:

-Learn to observe. A calm, watchful eye can be as useful if not more useful than a listening ear. Used in tandem, information should be easy to obtain.

-Learn to use and apply practical common sense and critical thinking. These skills will benefit you in every aspect of life.

IE don't put your foot in your mouth, consider the situation then talk, I'm notorious in work for it. I'm that guy that walked into a pub asked why the long faces did someone just die, yes x's grandfather just passed away.

I was lucky in that it defused and lightened the situation because only I'd do that, had a good laugh over it and I ended up buying the next few rounds.

Don't be oversensative. (Read: no point in being offended by most things, especially those things that don't affect you)

In relationships, determine the meaning of an action before responding to it. If in doubt, ask. (Read: don't assume intent)

It is better to look uninformed than incompetent.

    - knifes hurt

    - not everyone likes your music

    - lots of alcohol = bad over long time

    - no matter how much of a good idea it might seem at first, hugging a cactus is not worth it

    - slippers make life so much easier

    - invest in an umbrella

-from washington where it rains 200 days a year

umbrellas are for wimps, and they take a hand which could be warm in ones pocket or doing something else, like operating a phone or holding coffee.

Invest in a gortex coat or a rubber rain slicker, just as dry with both hands free and the option to tie it around ones waist instead of having to carry it if it proves unnecessary.

    Agreed^

A rain coat or parka is way more practical. Pricey though. Unless you are living in a place it rains a lot, it might not be worth the cost.

If it doesn't rain a lot, then you won't need it often so it should last a long time. Wearing mine nearly every day all autum/winter/spring its still made it 4 years. Spray on water proofing will extend its life as well.

It seems like a big investment, but it works out differently when considering the how long it will last if its taken care of. Still more expensive than an umbrella, no doubt, but my jacket ended up costing 12 cents a day for each day I used it.

Always be wary of the company you have before you. It's a lesson I learned long ago but still from time to time I slip up. I can never drill this enough into the mind of people.
