The Dark Sword Empty The Dark Sword

Post by FattyOfDoom Sat Mar 09, 2013 12:59 pm

I made this build in mugen to be for soley using the Dark Sword, but there have been some conflicting views about the Dark Sword. What would your opinions on this build be, and is the Dark Sword good?

I should probably mentioned i tried out the Dark Sword before, and i liked it's moveset but i only tried it for an hour or so before i decided to focus a build around it, hell it nearly made me make a DarkWraith CosPlay silly

With a buff or on an elemental path, a Darksword can wreck havoc. The R2 is weird in that the moveset for it is on a Straight Sword, not a Curved Sword. It actually does decent damage and, with a buff, is easily one of the 'better' straight swords IMO.

I was thinking about doing 27/40, but it actually only adds 37 AR according to mugen, is it worth 11 extra points?

I can easily agree without even trying it with a buff that it will cause havoc, but i try to stray from using buffs such as DMB, SLB or CMW. If i ever need extra damage, i'll just use my PW but thanks for the suggestions.

Using a Gold Pine Resin on it from time to time wouldn't hurt, the extra Lightning damage makes the sword extremely powerful.

Now those buffs i will use haha, the extra like 50AR doesn't decrease the battle to 3 hits, but definetly does help. I think i will use it.

It might just be me, but I'm always inclined to think that when I hear something like "A _______ weapon build" it's going to focus on achieving the max power for that build, followed by stamina and HP and NOTHING else unless it directly supports or enhances the weapon of the build.

http://mmdks.com/1eg3 Is what I would think you would go for.

Imo 40 str is a waste of points since you can just two hand your weapon amd have the same bit that's just me. Also you don't need pyro since you can just switch to a shotel if you come up against a turtle.

the 40 strength isn't for meeting the minimum requirements. It's for having the maximum damage.

The pyro is to vary up my playstyle and is to use PW as a way to increase my damage output.

It seems good but i don't need maximum damage haha, i took in both of your points and i feel this one is the one that will best suit me

The 28str and 30dex actually does more damage than 16 and 40 so that's why i placed the points like that.

It's stylish as f***, but its range really makes it not nearly as good as other options. I like the build though.

Had a Darkwraith cosplay build, (seems like ages ago), that looked like this:

    http://mmdks.com/1ehz

....You can make some interesting dead angles and wake up attacks with the Dark Sword's funny R2's.

I just love the darksword. It looks so awesome. It's r2's are good primarily for wake-ups, and for messing with people. Go Darksword!

My first dedicated darkwraith build looked a little like this:

I scrapped it for a quality build in the making.

This just so happens to be the build I'm currently working on. Not a quality build, but my themed build, and it incorporates the Darksword.

it's a fun weapon and the first weapon i ever pvp'd with in dark souls...

but there's definitely better choices. if you don't care, use it anyways; it's still pretty good.
