It's the little things in life that get you hatemail.

So I'm invading in the Burg on my SL138, right? Great offense, horrid defense. My setup is Crown of Dusk, Gold Hemmed Set, Darksword and Tin Crystalization catalyst. Spells are Pursuers, Crystal Soul Spear and Crystal Weapon.

I invade this kid. they're waiting for me to see if they can beat me. I cast Pursuers the second I see them. Bam, 1023 damage. I then cast Crystal Weapon on my Darksword and go to town. I thought I was gonna die from my low health due to the hits he landed, but I persevered. I bow nicely. Kid indicts me, so I jump for joy. Apparently, this pissed him or her off.

I invade again, same kid. Can't find him.. he was hiding on an alcove, the one you can get to from the plataform you kill the firebombers on. If it wasn't for that one single pursuer, I wouldn't have found him. I cast crystal magic weapon and go to town. He ust blocks. So I begin casting Crystal Spear. I do enough damage to take em out. Again, I boe. Indicted, joy... hatemail. Oh, the joys of Dark Souls. there's only so many ways you can tell someone to insert crystal magic up their anus.

So, what's the best hatemail you've gotten?

Well, on my SL 45 guy i was invading in sens, and invaded this guy. Now know this about my build, it's very fair. Most people i invade have better equipment then me cause i made this build to give new players a real taste of pvp and not 'Lol lightning uchi'. That doesn't roll well with me.

Anyways, i invade him and find him sitting in front of the fog gate, so i bow, he bows and then we begin. So the start of the duel went pretty well, though he only landed one hit on me so he didn't do to bad. So a tad bit after that he starts trying to summon a phantom during our battle, and that wasn't going to fly with me, so i changed over to my lightning +5 claymore, and kill him in one hit.

He sends me some hate mail saying how cheap i am, and that i'm a troll, and he did the signature 'I'm just trying to play a game and game mechanics aren't part of it!' line.... Some people shouldn't breed.

Even though I live in the US, I play at weird times (hooray irregular work hours) so I'm usually facing Japanese players in pvp. I've received quite a lot of Japanese messages which I sadly can't understand, but some of them are a full paragraph long which I suspect contains plenty of whining

Probably something about bringing dishonour to the game and your family or he'd meet you in takeshi's castle. In europe so i get alot of russian stuff, god knows what it means.

On pc, and i openly admit i'm crap, so anyway some dude invades in the full kirk gears, sword\shield and all. I beat him with a CMW'd BSS(thats all i can remember the build was unspectacular) and i get a message saying my build was unimaginative and uninspired and he felt sorry for me, to this day i still wake up at nights in a cold sweat wondering was i meant to be offended or was i meant to give a s***.

When the game first came up kicked a host off a cliff in the forest, he messages me something rude cant remember what, i responded with "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAA".......

i have a sl 45 i like to piss off ppl in sens with,get insane amounts of hatemail, my char has wrath of the gods, force and fire tempest.
i deserve the hatemail i get, but damn its funny :p
ppl msging me about cheating, gonna find me and kill me rl, etc.ï love those msgs, they rlly make my day

not in Dark Souls but in Demon's Souls. i was invading in Latria a few weeks ago and came across the host just standing at the archstone, probably AFK, so i backstabbed him to death and went on my merry way.

5 minutes later i got a message from them saying that i was the reason why online gaming sucks and he was going to find my ISP and ruin my life. apparently i was his new "project".

after all that non-sense he starts sending me attachments to my PSN account of some skeezy looking gang banger waving a 9mm, chunky corn filled crap floating in toilet boils and other unpleasantness.

i told them that their mother must be so proud of her basement dwelling troglodyte then blocked them.

I'd have to say that he's the reason why online gaming sucks. If he's AFK near the archstone, then quit the game. Otherwise, he knows the risks, chose to accept them, gets mad when his actions have consequences, then goes all psycho on you. Sheesh.

I got given hatemail after this:

Invaded guy in the parish at SL120 NG+ or something.

Chase him up to the top of the church, he's coming back from lautrec, he's trapped in the corridor.. I bow. I get a lightning spear to the face as reward, so i go back round the corner.

I return the favour and hit him.. He puts his shield up and comes round the corner, turtling, trying to avoid damage (he's obviously a rubbish PvP player). I WoG through his shield, then follow up with a hit, try Wog round the corner twice more he avoids one, blocks the other then hit him..

He's about 1/3 of his health left. I use lieghtning spears, throw them, missing most or blocking the rest, now 1/4-1/5.. He keeps being boring, turtling me for a while sparring me out, blocking everything and turtling out of fear.

Eventually I just quickly sprint round and BS him, tanking a hit and it finishes him off. He then sends me hate mail about this incident- the same guy who lightning speared me while bowing and sat turtling for ages. Eventually I have some nice chats after and coop the gargoyles with him though

I was once trying to help a friend in the Undead Burg with my sl 12 build (who is pretty far into the game) and I was just trying to give him some items he might use.

Next thing we know, somebody invades. I've seen his gamertag before, because I have seen his summoning sign an hour before that. Somebody summoned him and it was clear he was a hacker. He stormed the Taurus Demon and did way too much damage for what weapon he had. He also didn't take any damage from the Taurus' swings.

I told my friend to take a weapon that could bleed. Sadly, we both had only one weapon: an unupgraded Morning Star.
Somehow we managed to ambush him near the merchant and lock him in a corner, spamming that RB away. He was eventually killed.

Later he sent me a message boasting about how lucky we were and that we had no skill whatsoever. I responded with telling him that his skills were so magnificent he needed to use hacks. I also asked what fun it is for him to invade low players who couldn't defend themselves in the Burg. He didn't respond. I just hope he was so pissed after that death. It was pretty funny and embarassing actually

He ran away down to where the chained prisoner is and then disconnected when I didn't chase him I sent a message asking why he ran away, and he said, "People like you ruin the game. When the game first came out people fought fair without magic, now everybody uses it." When I asked him how a full half of the offensive options in the game were cheap, he responded with some bull crap about me not having enough skill to beat him with weapons. So I blocked him.

Wow, I find pyromancies are the easiest things to evade. A guy with a dagger (not trying to BS) would give me a harder time evading than a guy using pyromancies. At least the pyro is standing still

But yeah ofcourse not everyone would use those pyromancies when the game first came out, many of them didn't even know where to get those spells :roll:

I was invading on my 120 in new londo, setup was a bunch of pyromancies with chaos blade, dark hand, wanderer coat, hollow soldier waistcloth, iron bracelet, wolf ring, and cloranthy ring. Invaded some guy with either an uchigatana or an iiato. I opened with a great fireball which hit, he tried to attack me, i great combustioned him, he walked away, only to get blasted by my chaos storm. After this rather easy victory, I got a message cursing me out for being a "cheap pyro who has no skill" i tried to explain to him that pyros are just as open to him as they are to me if he really thinks they're that good. He just kept cussing me out :|

Speaking of being AFK, I was in Anor Londo right behind the illusory wall where havel's set is. Just standing right behind the wall being AFK and this guy apparently invades me and decides to run around looking for me for a full 30 minutes. I mean, in that much time how have you NOT scoured every inch of anor londo already? Every single enemy except the silver knight by that room was still alive, all the doors still unopened. So eventually they BC'd out of there and sent me hatemail about how I was a coward and blah blah blah. Of course I didn't even see that mail until I randomly opened up the PSN menu later.

I was invading at the kiln and invaded a gank squad getting rid of the black knight closest to the cliff. When I got close to the host he cast TWoP and his phantom went for a backstab, I simply delocked and parried him. He died after another hit with my buffed bandit knife.

The host was bad though, he would constantly try to stunlock me with his bastard sword and I would just dodge or parry and every time I would parry I would just leave the host alone. I think it was after about a minute of messing with the host with dung pies and parries I just backstabbed him off of the cliff.

Indictment and hatemail followed quickly after.

It can take longer to say things in japanese that may be simle in english. I wish more japanese people would send me messages, I need the practice.

i have been using a black knight cosplay and it seems those are against the law these days but artorias and silver knight cosplays perfectly fine

All indicting does is keep the PvP community active. Imo it's no way an indication of "lol he mad".

I don't get a lot of hatemails. That's probably because I duel honorably most of the time (or maybe because I die ), but yesterday I was called a glith hacker for casting CMW on an OGS. The guy explained me that using such glitch totaly fit my noob style.
I guess there is noober than me...

How can that even be fun?

I didn't use any glitch, OGS is naturaly buffable.

Invaded in blighttown tonight, the summon is wearing full havels with prism stones all around him and waving me towards him, I'd already seen where the useless host was hiding and run up at SL39 with power within and wog the summon in 2 hits. Useless host runs out from cover and gets 1shotted by wog and I spend the next 20 minutes basically replying with 'u mad' to the hosts and the summons hatemail.


The funniest part was BOTH of them claimed that they were helping the other guy when I claimed they were just sitting there waiting to gank (which they were).

Yes I realise this took no skill on my behalf (I had my chaos blade at the ready if it came to it) but it was so good to see these scrubs realise their plan was **** and that they were indeed scrubs.
