i know both of these weapons have to break 2 defences so the raw damage is limited but how well do they scale? should my str/faith keep one of them around as a backup or are they just useless? numbers please, i know both movesets already.

Crescent Axe it's good, but does low damage and you're going to lose if you're not a pro with it. On other hand Grant....

It's *** AWESOME the best Great Hammer ever. Period.

I use it with my Leeroy build, 40 faith, 34 str (so i can 2hand it), and it does 724 damage. Also it's R2 attack casts a miracle like WoG, but that has more range, causes more damage, and knockbacks 100% sure if it hits. Also it's fast as hell and you can combine it with your regular attack to take your opponents by surprise, also there is a lot of people who doesn't know it so when they see you raise your Hammer and start making a sound they will run to try to BS you, and fail lol. The WoG-like attack does around 800 damage to players (I tested it).

I have yet to meet someone who survives 3 hits of this thing.

I got 50 str and I find it worth it solely for the one-handed rolling attk. Only recommend 50 str if you are going to capitalize and make good use of the rolling attk since with the weight of the weapon it may be hard to keep your mobility (via Dark Wood Grain ring). Here some numbers for OP of two charecters I have weilding +5 Grant.
    Paladin 1: (50 str/30 faith)
    674/684 total

    Paladin 2: (50 str/50 faith)
    731/741
PS: 50 str for One Handed rolling attk is worth it. As for numbers, Grant doesn't get much outta that A faith scaling. Unless it gets improved damage on the Two Handed R2 aoe attk, I wouldn't recommend going more than 30 Faith for the sake of additional damage.
***Do not know if Grant gains more damage on Two Handed R2 attk due to faith.

after testing it on last FC matches i was dissapointed, i love the thing but its too heavy and the damage output kinda sucks. its awesome for pve though and its right still one of my fave weapons in the game, just not for pvp.
