I'm looking to eventually take this toon to the max SL, since I PVP with it in the forest as a catbro and with RSS.

PvP at max level? Do you know that forest hunter works the same as red eye orb? When you put on the ring, it looks for people around your sl or anything higher than you to invade. So, if you go max sl, you'll only be able to invade max sl people.
Stay sl 120-130 and go NG++ it's not that hard.

Go for pursuers. Manus is one point short of the claymore's weight for less mag adj than the TCC. May as well use TCC.

Pursuers. I've never been happy with the Manus Catalyst compared to the TCC.

Manus Catalyst is only better if you have 24 strength and 50 int, and then only for dark magic.
