In DkS that was, by and large, taken out. In return we were treated to super stamina regen with Blossoms, GCS, and Cloranthy Ring.
Which do you think was more game-breaking?

I never played DeS, and i haven't seen the HP regen in play either, so i can't say. But i think Sentiels answer is the best answer you'll be able to find.
