The Dragons and the Path of Dragon Empty The Dragons and the Path of Dragon

Post by SenSen Fri Feb 24, 2012 8:34 pm

    While I was
on my way home I thought about a few things which bothered me for quite a while.

    First off,
why did Gywn and the Lords started a war against the dragons? They got the fire
and went berserk? I know Acidic_Cook did some amazing research about the story
but I have to admit that I didn’t read all the stuff due lack of time.

    I just
wonder why the dragons had to die. Were they evil or something like that, you
know, like in TES – Skyrim? I just don’t get. Maybe I don’t want to get it
    because I like dragons. =P

    There
are also some ideas that I have about the Covenant “The Path of the Dragon”

    Acidic_Cook
mentioned something about that that dragon doesn’t has to be one of the dragons
Gywn has fought in the past because he looks different than the dragons in the
prologue. But what if this dragon is one of the dragons of the war? Maybe he
was spared because of unknown reasons…

    About
the different look: Maybe the Dragon waited at the Ashe Lake since the end of
the war for something or better to say for someone? For the chosen undead? And
this waiting simply affected his appearance? Just wondering because he opens his
wings and “reveals” himself AS you approach him for the first time not before or
    after you were there?

    Another
thing that might be interesting is the bonfire in front of him. From the very
start it is a +10 fire instead of a default +5 fire. I didn’t visit all place
of the game yet so it’s just an idea. But the bonfire at Firelink, the bonfire
at Qualaag’s Domain and the first bonfire in Anor Londo are also automatically
+10 bonfires and the have all one thing in common: A firekeeper is very close
by. So this brought me to the idea that that dragon might also be a firekeeper.
I can’t prove it of course, it’s just an idea.

    The next
thing is the covenant itself. I’m wondering why it is listed as “Neutral Evil”?
Neutral? No problem with that. But Evil? I mean unlike the Darkwraith, as
member of Dragon Covenant, you don’t do force invasions. Instead you ask for
being invited to have a more or less honorable duel with someone.

    The next
thing about the covenant is the reason for it’s existence. Collecting Dragon
Scales? At first it doesn’t really makes any sense. The first idea I had was
that the Everlasting Dragons want to mock Seath because he has no scales. But
this would be odd for an old dragon to do.

    So the
next idea was, that each dragon scales still holds a very small amount of a
dragon soul, aura or whatever you want to call it. The Everlasting Dragon
extracts this soul and reforges it into the Head and Torso Stone. So in theory collecting
hundreds of scales might enable you to transform into a real dragon.

    Maybe
the Everlasting Dragon wants to restore the Age of the Dragons after the chosen
undead kills the Gywn and the remaining lords or something like that.

I hate that stupid Dragon, made my no-bonfire run worthless. I hope someday someone with the Pendant kills him.

Awesome this helps a lot! =D *ironie off*

Sorry that I play the game for 4 weeks now.
Sorry that i know of this forum for 2 weeks now.
Sorry that i didn't bother to read everything what Acidic_Cook and Glyphblade have written. Mainly because i every second sentence was about Gywn, the lords or the pygmyn. And I dont care as much about them as about the dragons.

And with that im off into the forest getting pwnd by others XD

You could try and test-kill that Dragon. I have suggested using Sunlight Spear, White Dragon Breath, Fire Tempest and Gravelord Sword/toxic mist/ poison mist. You need 50 faith and 50 intelligence. If you have the time, of course.
