    Does the Hawk Ring also work for crossbows?

    Alos, I heard you can't auto-lock with the Sniper Crossbow. But what if you put it in your left hand? Or does it work for the right as well?

    you cant do it with either hand, yep it sucks and its so lame. im not sure about the hawk ring but why not use the leo ring instead?

    Yeah, but what if you have a sword in the right and a sniper in the left. No lock-on whatsoever? I'd find that very strange.

    And if you use elemental crossbows, the Leo Ring won't do very much extra damage.

    the regular lock on works for crossbows as does the hawk ring, theres just no scope mode like the bows have, also the sniper crossbow is incredibly slow to fire, better to use the heavy crossbow. if you relly want to use sniper crossbopw with hawk ring... the effects are pretty dramatic, you can snipe the first fire bomb hollow out side fire link from the bonfire, thing is you have to aim using the binoculars which aren't very accurate.

    Thanks for replying (about the hawk ring). I've started playing a little while ago, but I understand a lot of mechanics in the game. I was just wondering if the lock on would not work, even if you have a weapon in your right hand that can lock on.

    Oh really? Waybe with the new patch it got nerfed? I usually start upgrading the Heavy Crossbow to Divine once I have that ember, it's always been stronger in PvE as far as I can remember. Thanks for telling me though. Maybe I just used it on more enemies with weaker resistance to the elemental damage, and the later enemies have more resistance to it...

    this was before the patch and now that lightning got nerfed the reg path is gonna be better for sure so id go with the reg one.

    False. Lightning upgrade path is still the best, at least for Avelyn. +5 L-Avelyn with Lightning Bolts deals 45 more dmg per shot (than a +15 Avelyn).
    Sniper crossbow can deal about 30 dmg more per shot with +15 and lightning bolts, but there is still no point in doing that because your Avelyn shoots 3 bolts in the same time Sniper Crossbow shoots one.

    problem is the avelyn leaves you wide open if you miss hence why i prefer the light and heavy crossbows, also to get the most out of +15 you must use heavy bolts not lightning as the split damage effect will still lower the damage if you're using lightning bolts on a +15 crossbow. it also varies based on armor, what did you test your crossbow on?
