I know I've seen it somewhere
I'm sure I saw a link to a YouTube vid on here which shows a player throwing firebombs over the wall and killing the Capra Demon. I'm getting so much grief from this s.o.b. in NG++ that I'm desperate enough to try this but can't remember where the guy stood, so would like to watch it again. Can anyone help by posting the link please?

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Thank you reim, much obliged. I know this seems a cheap way to do it but I've done it the legit way three times, so I guess I'm due a little leeway.

Well, 297 Firebombs later: Result: 1 dog.
Guess it's back to the drawing board.

No offence man.
What's your SL? Maybe you can summon me and we could show him a thing or two together.

You could just run for the stairs and run over the little archway on the gate and just shoot arrows at him?

None taken, I had to have a laugh at myself too. Kind of you to offer but my SL is around 182 and in any case there's barely room for one of us in there, knowing me I'd probably stab you to death.

Like I haven't thought of that already?! I've done it, only to have the s.o.b. follow me up there and clobber me. If I make it (when hell freezes over) I've got a bunch of pyro spells equipped just for him, bugger arrows.

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
The way I go about it when I cba fighting the fight the right way, I throw some dung pies, and a bunch of different directions, not really trying to hit him. This makes me agro the dogs. Then I start attacking the fog door with a weapon with a good range, and eventually I kill one (or two if I'm lucky) of the dogs.
Then capra alone is easy. If you're having trouble, running from him and do plunging attacks when you have the chance works very well.

Won't work, he can go up the stairs and smack you anyway.TheAshenPhantom wrote:You could just run for the stairs and run over the little archway on the gate and just shoot arrows at him?

Hmmm... probably the difference in our builds since mine is made to be a tank I can just block his attack when I get up there and he just bounces off my sheild or he'll just miss me completely and hit the tree.

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Good idea, purity. Capra can hit you on the arch, but it mainly is with his jump attack (which you can roll through. I go up there to get the dogs in a line, kill them quick, fall R1 capra, then face him toe-to-toe.

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Slake....he used to bug me a good deal too.
Here's my strategy:
Great Scythe +15 for the R2 wide sweep. Sunlight Blade or similar high powered buff. If you're really looking for a win....POWER WITHIN!!
Step through the fog gate and ignore the dogs. The most likely scenario is they get a nip or two in but they do far less damage than he does. If you're rolling, worry only about his attacks. Most times the dogs will be killed collaterally from the sweeping attacks. Regardless of the outcome, the fight won't last very long with this method.

Slake, I have a SL175 that could help. She is a co-op/support build, so I can use Bountiful or Soothing to help us kill the Capra!

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Well many thanks my merry band of helpers. I'm devising a wicked strategy. Don't want to give the game away but it involves a BFG+dung pies+firebombs+a rubber chicken+the kitchen sink. I'll let you know how I get on, so watch this space.
You know the thing that bugs me most? I've made that sniggering Undead Merchant in the Burg filthy rich, (the one with the dish mop for a pet). Last I knew he was off on a world cruise at my expense. However, I have a plan for when he gets back. I'm going to kill him and pinch his katana, so there!

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Let me guess...
You wrap some firebombs into the kitchen sink, using the dung pie as a holder substance for them both, as well as toxify the bombs. You attach the rubber chicken to the Sink, and with your arms you fling it past the Fog Gate wall. Once it goes over, you go threw the fog gate to find toxic and flame substance taking over the small room... you shoot your BFG, and the green electricity kills them all with a bang.
Genius. Hopefully the chicken doesn't break.

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
One flaw in all of this, if you're planning on using a 'free range' chicken you could find that you've ended up toxifying Havel's Tower instead if it then decides to go for a wander after you've lobbed it over the wall!

You and I think so much alike Acidic, it's supernatural and Gaz, that's not a flaw, it'll save me poisoning Havel later.

Re: I know I've seen it somewhere
Just in case you're all gagging to know how I got on.
Well, the kitchen sink had to go, it was too heavy even with Havel's ring and the rubber chicken got melted by a fire bomber. As for the BFG, not available, anywhere. That left firebombs and dung pies and little old me, which so far had not been a very effective combination.
So, 99+ firebombs & approx 140 dung pies later, I think the dogs must be chewing on the old bonio in the sky, although I'm not sure but I'm bored, so I decide to go for it. But what to wear? This was dictated by the fact that I'd decided to go with the Lifehunt Scythe+5, not having a Great Scythe+15 about my person (thanks Skare, I'd dismissed Scythes as a possible weapon after what happened in the Asylum Demon fight). I equipped the Black Iron armour which I'd upgraded to +4 because I remembered Gaz raving about it (thanks Gaz). It has high bleed resist. The Blood Shield and the ring but forgot to equip Red Moss (typical). I sallied forth (well trembled forth actually) AND, WASTED HIM!!!! YEE BLOODY HA!
Then I ran up the street in a cloud of euphoria, got attacked by those assassins I'd totally forgotten about (you must be feeling really good about yourself now Gaz), ran away and got killed by them on the steps.
Sorry this has been so long but I felt you all deserved a proper synopsis. My grateful thanks to one and all. I LOVE THIS FORUM.
