I hate you Seeth, your stupid archives and your stupid cave.

So I was lost in Duke's Archives for days, after levelling up a bit and getting a better shield I was able to explore it much more effeciently and figure out where I went wrong... so I got to the forest, and then the Crystal Caves. Neato~

And I have no idea where I'm going in these Caves. Just died for the 7th time trying to navigate the stupid invisible walkways, and whoever decided that was a good idea needs to DIE!

I've heard there's a Blue titanite Slab in here, which I think is where I'm going at the moment... I have no idea if that's actually the right way, but it's the only path forward I can actually see...

Wasted my last stones mapping out a path that actually took me further upwards, so I guess I must've taken a little shortcut accidently at some point... Thank the lord they added in snow or dust or whatever that stuff is that falls, it's slow and tedious but at least accurate.


Anyway, just a bit of a rant because this is the most trouble I've had with the game, and it's not even an enemy.

What bugs me is that the first sign floating in midair tells you to walk ahead - makes sense. Second one says imminent fall - so naturally you turn back.

Nope. You're meant to ignore that bloody sign and carry straight on. Sigh.


What bugged me was discovering that after several hundred attempts navigating the walkway leading to the lone body with the blue slab. I wasn't even a mage. Sigh. It's stupidly easy to get to the boss normally once you realise where the bridge leading to Seath is...

Wait wait wait. You mean going forward off the edge of that sign was the right way to go? I couldn't find any way, or any indication of a way, forwards from there... I found a path back up, which I wasted my stones on, then looked around more before deciding to turn around... which is where I assume the Slab is, since I saw a shiny on the ground.

Also, it does make me chuckle when the Golems do their AoE attack only to have it miss because of the sloped terrain.

Anyway, unless I'm a pyromancer with nice armor, i hate the archives. I'm going though with my mage right now. I only have 8 endurance, so I don't want to put on heavy armor, but i might, and just fat roll. I did upgrade a glove to max and bought all the pyromancy I need, but with 14 health, I'm just Bleh about the whole place.

I did Seath with my SL 6. Get a bunch of Black Firebombs and stay at midrange. Chuck them like they are going out of style. Stay at the point where his arcing crystal breath will just barely miss you.

Blue slab is to the left where the crystal lizards are in the small tunnel and is pretty tricky to get to from memory... The path to the boss is out the other end of the tunnel from whence thou came.

Seath is cake if you stick to his right and double hand your strongest weapon but don't go under his tails unless you have a death wish or really want the tail cut as his tail smash is by far his most annoying attack imo. Doesn't hurt to wear some curse resist gear in case you get stuck in his crystals. Good luck.

Yeah... don't bother going for the blue slab! If you want it for the trophy, I guess you can get it this once. Or you could get the freebie one in Oolacile instead!

As for the way to Seath, it's very easy. Just 2 straight invisible paths (the second one being in the opposite direction of where you were going, if you were in fact going towards the blue slab). Once you get your bearings, know where the paths start and end, you can easily run it.

Yeah, a couple more deaths and I have the Slab and can run to Seeth.

Unfortuantly Seeth is being a big meanie face... Are there any audio cues for when he's doing his trolololol instant lose move? I can't see any movement cues while I'm behind him hacking at his tail...

Speaking of, how much freaking damage does that thing need to be cut off? I've got him down to 1/3rd HP purely from hitting his tail before he curses me, and still no sword.

Also, any other way to get the purging stones? I can't buy anymore, so I only have a couple shots left at doing Seeth un-cursed...

The Man Eater Shells in Ash Lake and in front of the cave can drop purging stones. Also, the female undead merchant sells an unlimited amount of them. Finally, Ingward in New Londo can cure curses at the cost of one humanity.

As for the sword, you have to hit the tip of his tail as far as I'm aware. It pretty much came down to dumb luck for me.

Well, took a little break, and armed with the knowledge that I had to actually aim for the tip... I now have the Greatsword, and Seath's soul~ In your face you big scaleless bastard!

He's much easier when you're far enough away to be able to see what he's doing hehe. Probably could've killed him faster if I was willing to PW and just whale on him for a couple seconds, but I decided to play it safe and cat 'n mouse it.

Then I decided to do Tomb of Giants, and proceeded to get eaten by a skeleton dog 20 seconds into my trip... so I went to New Londo and unflooded it... then fell off a walkway, losing most of my health, and got stabbed in the back by a Darkwraith while I was still flinching from my fall damage.

You can get two purging stones from Sparkly the crow by trading her a cracked red eye orb.

The antique dress set (kill hyrdra, kill golden golem, talk to Dusk, return to where the golden golem was) has high curse resistance. There's also a cursebite ring in New Londo Ruins that greatly increases your resistance.

I'm locked out of Dusk's stuff at the moment anyway... didn't grab it right away, so now I can't get it until after I finish the DLC.

You can warp out of the DLC and return when you want.

I know, but you can't summon Dusk, or pick up her items, until it's completed.

Secondly? Would you like some help? I can hack off Seaths tail easy if I have someone to keep his *** distracted.

I usually shoot arrows or drop prism stones to see where the borders are. It works well for me. But, I rarely ever get the slab.

Seath's worst enemy is the slumbering dragoncrest ring. He's near-blind, so relies on sight. With that ring you can circle him with ranged attacks and he has genuine trouble finding you.
