    pyro because anyone can (and should) use it without any stat requirements outside of attunement. although i prefer miracles more.

    Some miracles have lightning damage. Lightning defense is usually the lowest, so the lightning usually does more damage. Although crystal sorcery has tons of damage.

    ^ Miracles have a little bit of everyting. Phyro just has fire, and sorcery just has magic damage.

    Also depends on the usage. PvP or PvE, or what you need it for. They all do different things.

    Best spell ever is acid surge though.

    Pyros on a dex build. Requires minimal additional stats and the speed is already pretty much maximized. As if dex builds weren't powerful enough as it is.

    In my opinion, and since I mostly do PvE, sorcery. It's kinda my new favorite thing, and it does so much freaking damage. Get 40 dex in there, ricard's rapier, and you've got a combination that can kill way too fast.

    Sorcery can do a scary amount of damage but it's just not that versatile, soul arrow or a better version of soul arrow are your only real choices.

    Pryomancy takes very little investment and there is no reason to not use some amount of pyromancy.

    Miracles offers great support and versatility with better buffs than either sorcery or pyromancy.

    White Dragon Meth is very useful situationally as well. And while I prefer lemon buff for PvP I typically keep Crystal Methgic Weapon for PvE since you get multiple castings (although that's often just for speeding through areas, to ensure 1hko).

    I agree with everything accept for sorcery not being versatile.

    I use HCSM for spacing, not necessarily damage, although it does good damage if it connects. It allows me to rebuff, take a breath, all sorts of things.

    Strong Magic Shield is severly underrated.

    Hidden Body has its uses as well as Hidden Weapon.

    Dark Bead is the definition of versatile considering its low stat investment.

    Then theres weapon buffs with the multiple castings of those buffs.

    i'm just not a fan of sorcery at all, so i am probably biased. while the damage sorcery can do is very impressive, it's just not as interesting or useful to me as pyromancy or miracles.

    strong magic shield is easily outdone by great magic barrier.

    hidden body can be replaced with a ring and buffing is far superior to using hidden weapon and it's completely useless in PVE.

    dark bead is not much fun to use or to fight against. it's low stat investment make it the most broken thing in Dark Souls at the moment, thankfully it only works well when you get close and personal.

    darkmoon blade and sunlight blade are much better buffs than crystal magic weapon and if you need to stop to rebuff in PVP or during a boss fight, you might be doing something wrong. EDIT: unless hosting in the forest that is. even then you have resins you can use to rebuff if you want to go that route.

    that leaves dragon breath, which requires a lot of investment to use and i find it underwhelming considering the requirements.

    if the Moonlight Greatsword didn't require Int, i would never consider using any sort of sorcery. miracles are more versatile and useful. pyromancy can be just as dangerous as sorcery though it does require a little more finesse to use and isn't as broken, plus all builds are free to use at least a little pyromancy. what i can't do with miracles or pyromancy is made up for with items that are better to use than the spells that do pretty much the same thing (repair, remedy, cast light etc.)

    i'm not trying to discount anyones arguments, that's just how i see things, so you're mileage may vary.

    I hate them all, but Pyromancy least of all. By far the most BS out of the three is sorceries. They have so many casts, short cast times, and are ridiculously strong.

    Miracles are 2nd place even though they only have 3 different types of spells(lightning bolt, wog, emit force). Emit force and lightning bolt are both really easy to dodge. But WoG is the ultimate example of having no skill and relying on magic.

    3rd place goes to Pyromancy. They have a lot of casts but are weaker than sorceries and have a longer cast time. Usually pyromancers aren't as cheap as the other 2

    I'm sorry my friend, but I will contest that all day. It requires 15 int. It blocks ALL types of damage. It works against elemental weapons. It reduces stamina drain (when used on a shield not weapons). It also affects partial parries. The only drawbacks are: You have to block for it to work and it only lasts 15 seconds. And on top of all that, the casting time makes it viable to recast in duels.

    I'd pick SMS over GMB any day of the weak. As a matter of fact, I’d argue its more op than dark magic.

    Ya you're right about that. It has some uses in pvp, but only for the intial "shock factor". I do like having the option of hidden body though without taking up a precious ring slot. Although I've gotten pretty good at rolling through pursuers and hardly use it anymore.

    I dont know about that. Do I pay for rebuff attempts sometimes? Ooooo ya, but I risk it sometimes with great success as well. Your timing has to be perfect if your back is not against a wall though. Again, thank you DWGR.


    In the end though, I think my difference of opinion with you is pretty minimal. Only being that sorcery has uses outside of damage allocation.
