Velka's Paladin

The idea behind this build is the dark theme and the mysteries of the goddess Velka. Her miracle, Vow of Silence, implies that she was a rogue goddess, involved in secret rites. Her talisman scales with Int, so I feel she was involved with dark sorceries as well. Karmic Justice and Vow of Silence give off a purple aura, similar to Artorias when he uses his abyss energy charge up.

I opt for an occult Server, a sword used in rites, and the Effigy Shield, shield of the occultists. The armor gives a great dark look, and mom mask actually looks good with Artorias armor. Curved greatswords are perfect weapons for tanks, I shouldn't get interrupted if I attempt to R2 combo with 91 poise. The strategy consists in casting Pursuers, then use Vow of Silence. When VoS fades use the spells to finish off. SL 150 is the only way I can make this dream build.

You learned to midroll! I'm so proud of you~! Although to be honest, Velka seems like a stealthy kind of character so quickrolling would have probably been better for this build.

I'm going to say this build is alright even if it has a few spells, because the vow of silence balances it out. If you're going for a roleplay, then you might as well go all the way and only use Velka's talisman and no catalyst. And get Karmic Justice.

I vouch that SL200 is better than SL150.

Hahaha, I told you!!! The talisman and catslysts were chosen on min/maxing MagAdj. Either way, Velka is involved with the darkmoons it's a good coincidence. I usually cast 1 self buff per fight so I ditched KJ for VoS.

Well, that and the fact that I already have my high level build past 150. I was planning on bringing him to 200.

I feel I'm still making sacrifices at SL 150. This build can't fast roll with high poise, it has base stats for the Server (buffing with DMB is a waste with 13 Dex) and Int is at minimum for Pursuers. It doesn't even have 40 End. I think this SL is the perfect balance for min/maxing.

Just go 200! I mean, at least there, you still don't get to have like 40/45/50/50 (Unless you have base vit and end, anyway o.o) You still technically have to make sacrifices :o

At SL 200 I can go fast roll with 76 poise. Doesn't feel like a good sacrifice to me, because I have everything I wanted 50 levels below with this build in specific. It also kills the tank theme of the build. I suck at arena anyways so I really don't have any reason to go past 150.

So you're better at hosting/invasions than arena? I have a lot less trouble in the arena, because it's even ground(both literally and figuratively).

In all seriousness though Wyrm, I dont think the research is extensive enough to validate any opinions. I think there is a good chance you could be right and not investigating it is a waste if you ask me. Maybe it is maybe it isn't, either way its currently debateable imo. At least the 130-140 debate, at the very very least.

I commend your efforts and willingness to explore.
