The glitch? Are you talking about the quit/ reload method...?
It's very easy. The game can't save your location on the rotating bridge itself, so quitting and reloading will cause you to spawn wherever you last were before you stepped on it.
1. Stand on the side of the 'grand hall' that's closer to the Avelyn, a few steps off from the rotating bridge. Open/ exit your menu just to make sure it autosaves there.
2. Go onto the rotating bridge. Activate it to rotate it.
3. Let the bridge rotate completely so the game can save the bridge's new position. Don't quit before it finishes rotating.
4. Quit/ reload without stepping off the bridge. You're back where you were before you stepped on the bridge, but now its rotated away from you and there's a cliff/ drop where the steps were.
5. Walk off the drop at full walking speed (neither slow walk nor sprinting), and you are guaranteed to land safely by the Avelyn.
That's a longwinded way of saying - stand by the X, walk off:
Alternatively, if you don't like cheating - the safest and most risk-free way to practice the Avelyn drop is as an invader. The second spawn location in the Duke's Archives can be accessed by invading from behind the bookcase shortcut (by the bottom of the long ladder, near Logan's shop area). Invading from that area will spawn you directly in front of the Avelyn's rotating bridge.
If you're a Darkwraith and need to pick up lost souls/ humanity after a failed invasion - at least you only have to walk a short way back to where you invaded from without any enemies a long the way. Certainly a lot more risk-free than doing it yourself as a host and having to run all the way up there each time, with the possibility of losing souls/ humanity.
