There's also the Ring of Favor and Protection. It doesn't give as much Equipment Load, but it gives other bonuses too and is a lot easier to get if you don't have the Master Key.

kill lautrec. the easiest time to kill him is after he's freed from the parish. just kick him off, reload the game, and BOOM! you done got yourself a FAP ring.
also: kill the moonlight butterfly in darkroot to get the key to havel's tower.

If you still want Havel's Ring, go to the Undead Parish, find Andrei (follow path leading away from the parish), the pathe in front of him leads to Darkroot Garden, just past a titanite Demon (big lazy guy crawling on the ground shooting lightning). After some exploring, you'll get to Darkroot Basin (watch out as the downward path has a Black Knight guarding it). From there you'll see these bright walking things called Golems, they are aggressive even from afar and will chase you. Move up the hill, there is a door...
Behind this door is a menace...
Famous for his one-hit kills...
But he is slow, and can be blocked...
This is Havel the Rock, owner of the Ring.
Slay him and the ring is yours... die to him and repeat it all over again.
Unless of course you have the key(not the Master Key) to his tower. Which makes it a lot easier because you can access him from Undead Burg.

Well. I'm Level 37, Grass Crest Shield+5, Drake Sword+1, Elite Knight Armor with +1 for the Gauntlets, Leggings and Helmet, +2 on the Plate Body, Wolfs Ring and Blue Tearstone Ring. I usually hang out in Undead Burg, trying to get summoned and help people as much as I can. If any of you can help me beat Quelaag, I'd appreciate it also I need Humanity.

the trick to quelaag is to be close to her. her sword attacks will miss if you're close to her. when she leans down, RUN, she's about to asplode!

Just kidding, you really need to get a better weapon. At your level, you should be able to have a weapon surpassing the Drake Sword.

As for fighting Havel yourself i advise taking your armor off for a fast roll and just use weapon and shield. You can block his hits but it is much easier to just fast roll around him and backstab.

Yeah, if you kill the Moonlight Butterfly, you can access the watchtower basement from near the Hydra, in the Darkroot Basin.

You can buy some firebombs(40-50) and kite him out of the tower, throw one or two. Rinse and Repeat if you want to be cheap haha

Also, I believe that Domhall sells the Master Key once he moves to the underside of the bridge near Firelink - which should happen once you've rung both bells.
