Should I take off ring of favor for a while? - I have a spare

I have all the other rings except speckled stoneplate.

I was thinking about trying a double tearstone ring build.

Will my defense or attack go up during an attack.

so if I have 1500hp and someone critical hits me for 1501 total, will my def bonus from the tearstone ring keep me alive? or does the tearstone ring bonus come in after the damage?

The bonus does not come in until after the damage is done. I would not recommend using the Blue Tearstone Ring unless you have both very high HP and defense.

Generally if you're low enough for the Blue Tearstone to work, one shot will kill you even with the enhanced def.

It only really benefits high Vit/Def builds, where you don't really need the extra def anyway. If you were gonna take of the FAP, Blue TS is probably a pretty bad replacement.

FAP can become a crutch. Take it off for a while and see if you can go without it.
