So the other night....

One of my friends who's new to dark souls had recently started a new game. He's taking a liking to it and refuses to go on any forums or wiki's when he's stuck (good for him).


He's doing great so far and just beat the dukes.

So the other night him, I and a few others were hanging out having a few beers and I watched him feed the 5 channelers tridents he found in the dukes to frampt.

I was speachless. He was like "They're ******* useless dude I fould like three hundred of them"

*facepalm*

Some people have all the luck. I didn't get a symbol of avarice (by chance) until my 4th character, character mind you not playthrough. My friend who started playing a few months ago has already seen several vagrants of both kinds whereas I've only seen 1 evil one with over 400hrs of gampeplay. Some people are just lucky

Well, how about this one, I've only ever owned one trident.

I've never had a single boss weapon forged from iron golems soul

I've never had a slab drop from any normal enemy.

That guy is so damn lucky, I hope you guys just let him make that massive error

I actually had my first slab drop a couple weeks ago. I felt like I just got my first period.

Can he farm another one for me? I'll trade him a broken straight sword and a hollow warrior waistcloth for it!

Don't they only give you 1 soul when you feed them?

I wasn't sure how many souls he got from each one. He does the typical fps player playing an rpg item dump so his entire inventory was gone in a few seconds. So yes we did let him make the mistake.

And gmwdim there's no online at his house so he cant sadly.

Got ten slabs from the darkwraiths yesterday, it took me just under an hour.

Reminds me of how I got a Channeler's Trident from the Channeler in the Depths on my first playthrough, thinking that a Channeler's Trident drop was the equivalent of a Longsword drop.

There is only one item that eludes me in this game.... The Egale shield!!! It is seriously the only item I have never found! XD

I get those boar helm drops all the time.

Is the Trident any good as a weapon? I only farmed for mine for the Knight's Trophy but have never used it.

its an adequate weapon if your a int build, but the 2 handed strong attack does the dance which provedes a good dps buff. the buff only last like 30 seconds and takes 1/3 of the weapons durability though. i use it for dancing on corpses when i darkwraith.

Lucky gits. Best I've ever gotten is when I first went through the Lower New Londo Ruins and the first two Darkwraiths dropped their Dark Hands. Similar thing happened with the bat demons of Anor Londo, got two Demon Spears straight away.

Some people get all the luck with those tridents. I've only gotten 2 tridents through my whole time playing the game. One for the Knight's Honor trophy and the other so I could mess around in people's games.

It's a decent weapon, scales well with Int but is best if you're high level with all the stats. Not quite as strong as a Chaos Winged Spear at base stats and 40 Int but it looks a lot cooler and that's what counts.

OT, I found my first one a couple of days ago, dropped in the Parish while I was low level. I was freaking ecstatic.

I get them fairly often like usually once per playthrough, but that may be due to my style of getting through the Archives. The slabs and vagrants are the things that like to elude me the most.

I can't believe how some people manage to just "find it" so freaking easily (screw item discovery). This damn weapon tormented me for over a year before I finally got my hands on one.

Item discovery just means you have a high low chance of finding something instead of a low chance. The one slab I found was with base item discovery.
