I am hearing about vagrants and think I might have seen one. It was white and round with legs it was on top of a bookcase in the dukes archives. I killed it but then was invaded and killed before I could pick up whatever(if anything) it dropped. Have never seen it again. Was this a vagrant and did I miss out on some good loot?

Re: Vagrant sighting
Vagrants, while rare, normally drop only around 5000 souls and twin humanity. So unless if you have a collection of twin-humanities no their drops aren't that good. And yes that was in fact a vagrant.

Re: Vagrant sighting
It would be awesome if the items dropped would mutate into different things, like normal weapons/ armor would be like a small weak enemy, but upgraded items would be black phantoms and items would be regular vagrants.

Re: Vagrant sighting
I believe all Vagrants (good or evil, red or white) only drop 100 souls in NG.GrinTwist wrote:Vagrants, while rare, normally drop only around 5000 souls and twin humanity. So unless if you have a collection of twin-humanities no their drops aren't that good. And yes that was in fact a vagrant.
The Evil (White) Vagrants always drop a Humanity.
The Evil (Red) Vagrants always drop a Twin Humanity.
As for the good vagrant types, they drop a variety of other consumable items but there is very little documentation. The red has been confirmed to drop a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier and a Purging Stone.
Other reported drops are a Gold Pine Resin, Transient Curse, Egg Vermifuge, Divine Blessing, and one or more of the coin types (but I haven't seen them clarified as belonging to the red or white good vagrants, specifically).
But yeah - your point still stands, they don't drop anything special. Seeing them is the reward, not getting what they drop.

Re: Vagrant sighting
Last week I was wondering if vagrants are like BPs , meaning that they can only be sighted on NG+ when I was proven wrong. My girl encountered an evil vagrant on NG in the Catacombs. The bugger was hiding behind the Prowling/titanite Demon, firing of projectiles.

Re: Vagrant sighting
I encountered my first one on Monday. After 100s of hours of play. It was a red one.
At first (and from a distance) I didn't know what I was looking at - thought it was an invader doing one of the gestures or something
Oh and guess where it was? In the middle of the narrow platform running up to the two SK Archers in Anor Londo
So whoever you are that contrived that utterly sadistic situation, bravo
(I was using a mage and had already cast hidden body so it didn't impede my progress as it happens but I'm sure it caused several deaths that day)

Re: Vagrant sighting
I've never seen one in person, despite long efforts to. But from vids I've seen the red/evil one's projectile attack is brutal. It appears to be 100% physical damage (folks have blocked it with balder shield, black knight shield etc with no apparent damage), but does really high damage that doesn't seem to correlate to how many mini-projectiles actually hit you. It also generates this funny looking series of bubbles out of its head that makes it look like a steam engine, heh.

Re: Vagrant sighting
Ive seen two this week a good one in another persons world and an evil one in my world. Now whats cool is the evil res one spawned where ive been dropping items in the gargoyle church. Ive been dropping them in the corner where rhea neels to pray the corner on her left. I started dropping items there cause i read they spawn there. If you want to see one start dropping items in known spwan points. This is the first time in over a thousand hours of play ive seen one. Good luck!

Re: Vagrant sighting
I thought that the evil ones spawn when someone fails to retrieve his bloodstain , and the friendly ones spawn from drift items. Can someone confirm or deny that ?

Re: Vagrant sighting
^ Ah - then the one I saw was the result of an honest death. It is a place where players die pretty regularly. I assumed someone had done something (discarding items or whatever) to actually conjure on at that spot for lulz.

Re: Vagrant sighting
I've only ever encountered evil ones. I guess I'm rather lucky as I've seen a total of 6. In the Oolacile town I saw 2 together a white and red one which was pretty amazing.

Re: Vagrant sighting
The one red one that was in my world showed up exactly where ive been dropping multiple items in the back left corner of the parish church. It was was shooting projectiles and was agressive lol. Ive got pictures. i called my girls to come see, i was so excited. ive been leaving items at known spawn points for a week or more. Oh im in my first play through with this PC and it dropped about 120 souls and twin humanities. I thought it would drop more souls. Everyone should start dropping useless items in known points we would all see more. I been dropping about five junk items per spawn point. Im gonna try and post picture later. my phone want let me post it.

What a coincidence! I saw one yesterday in the same place, as a mage, and I had Hidden Body cast. The difference? My vagrant was white. I was able to kill it, but it fell off the edge before I could grab the drop. I was SL249.

Re: Vagrant sighting
Can you make them spawn in areas where you've already cleared the boss? I assume yes, but it'd be nice to know for sure.
