Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
I refuse to get the demo since I already pre-ordered my Collector's Edition. I don't want the slightest bit spoiled before the real thing hits shelves. ^_^

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
Been watching roomie play the multiplayer, not to shabby I have to admit. I don't like that it's eleven waves but it's a demo, I assume it will be higher in the full version with more attacker options. Watching the Phantom mess him and his team when we first saw it was hilarious. "This person has a sword, this will be easy." while moving closer to them. Five seconds later and on the floor dying, "What the heck just happened?"

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
He allowed me to play a match and it wasn't bad, felt decently balanced. I think my one irk was the assault rifles firing speed, was to fast for me to keep track of how much ammo I was using and more often than not I was in the reload animation when I wasn't expecting it, I also reload like mad to make sure I have a full clip in any shooter so it was quick shocking to me.
My other issue was melee, reminded me way to much of Armored Core 4 but there does seem to be some tracking to it. More often than not my roomie was punching air as the enemy ran right past him and there were many times of pressing it by mistake when trying to sprint. As it is I find it mostly worthless and highly annoying.
That was pretty much all I was able to pick up about it,

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
Is this a demo of the 1-player as well? Did they go back to the more expanded RPG system and equipment from ME1?

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
You get to play 2 of the campaign missions, as for the equipment thing I've only played 1 so going off that it looked quite similiar.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
Honestly, I've never played any Mass Effect games before except for the Mass Effect 2 Demo, but I was pretty disappointed with the demo. The gunplay is mediocre, when the enemies curb stop you when you're down it looks like they're nudging you and going "is he still alive?" and speaking of the downing system it is too easy to die on higher difficulties and you're completely and utterly defenseless once you do, which I don't like. Certain classes are overpowered while others are unplayable until you level up, and at max level many aspects of the game become systematic or just plain boring. Maybe it's just a matter of me not liking Mass Effect gameplay in general, but whatever. Also, the campaign seemed routine and like I was doing the same thing over and over again, I honestly just played the campaign to get to the next cutscene as the cutscenes are pretty nice.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
I loved ME1, one of the best games I've ever played. Was very disappointed with ME2, thought it removed most of the RPG aspects and really dumbed down a lot of things. And planetary scanning -- ugh -- that never should have gotten off the drawing board. Hoping that ME3 goes back to its roots, but I'm going to continue to wait and see what other folks say before I commit.

I refuse to buy Bioware games since the DA2 butchering.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Demo
Mass effect is their main project but I agree the screwed up DA2 but Mass Effect has not been ruined yet and it looks like this is going to be the best one yet
