That way we could also have pvp and co-op in those areas. I think it would have been interesting (and frustrating, but if you think about it some of the most frustrating areas of the game can be lots of fun - Sen's Fortress for example).

I really wish you could PvP in Ash Lake. Even if it was only RSS summons or something. It's such an overwhelmingly epic setting. Seems like such a waste to not be able to use it that way. It's so wide opened too, it'd make for really nice big battles.

I found a lot of the enemies in the hollow to be underwhelming to be honest.
The only thing there that could be considered a challenge was the black hydra, but I find that it's attacks are even easier to dodge than the original's attacks.
It's a bit of a disappointment really, because the setting is epic.
I think it would be even better if the PVP that we could find in the forest was moved to Ash Lake.

They shoryuken your undead butt, chosen, or not back to bonfire before the game can even lol at you. If there was a boss like this, I totally pass. Getting one shotted by mushroom is already embarassing like hell.
On the other hand, PvP in Ash Lake does sound awesome.

I think the small opening with the potential of being swarmed by Mushrooms is actually pretty close to a boss fight. I honestly used some run and gun tactics then said "heck with it," lured them up a bit and jumped down and ran out. Speaking of the lake I've recently started wondering if that's sand or an accumulation of ash. If I ever get time to play maybe I'll check it out.

Ah, Mushroom Punch. Man, I nearly wept when I loaded up the DLC, got to the Sanctuary and saw Elizaebth staring at me from the Bonfire...
