Mostly a Charcoal/Pine resin buffing Richard's Rapier and Balder Side Sword Build. Elite Knight due to the good damage it can soak and still allows a mid-roll. Ring of Favor and Protection for obvious reasons, and Steel Ring to increase defense.

Any suggestions or alterations for the build, be it stat allocation or weapons or whatnot? Still new to the whole build thing. Also, is it possible to make a decent Lifehunt build at SL55?

I think the build is good. Endurance is low, but with the weapons you selected that shouldn't be a huge problem considering you fight a little more conservativally.

    Lifehunt build - http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=225736000105889272

Not great. Life is low but you can take away some points to DEX and spread them out differently. Also, the Bloodbite Ring is just there to be uber-cautious, you could switch it out for a FaP ring or something depending on what you desire. Bloodshield is also a good choice.

EDIT: Here is a surer alternative - http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=424067014458360536

Seems fine to me. You might want to switch ring of steel protection with Leo's ring, which goes perfectly with both of your weapons.

As for a lifehunt scythe build, how about...

Maximum bleed resistance, good health, and I chose not to max out dex because you really don't need the max amount of damage from the lifehunt scythe because of the bleed effect. Wolf ring will help you with poise, and yes.

Yeah, I don't like it either too much myself but some people are comfortable with that mid roll. It is what it is. But he really focused on boosting his defenses sky-high with that Steel ring so maybe he can get away with it.

Thanks for the help, Lunar and Pendent. I honestly kind of like mid-roll a bit more than fast roll for whatever reason, guess I'm weird like that. The build is pretty much me taking my SL 225 build and down-leveling it. The purpose it to play conservatively and see how the opponent reacts to properly punish with the BSS R2/2HR2 or Rapier for variety. Since I'm already sacrificing a fast-roll for soaking armor, I thought I may as well toss in the Steel Ring. I'm not really sure how the Leo ring works exactly. The main weakness of this build is parrying though.

You both provide some really good Lifehunt builds. Though, why so much into VIT when the low DEF pretty much renders you easily kill-able vs STR builds and such?

Well, the defense won't stay that low once you start carrying around Humanity in your counter.

Defense has to be low to get the <25% equipment rate. I like midroll too, but with the scythe you kind of have to be quick. I can't explain it exactly, but midroll just doesn't work with it.

Yeah, I understand. Since the Scythe has a really large punish window, it would be best to have the maximum mobility possible to close distance or roll away. Guess it's a fair compromise.
