For anybody who hasn't played Demon Souls and is hurting for DKSII...

Get Demon Souls, play it. Don't have a PS3? Get one. It's worth it unless you're a poor bastard.
Think you're a poor bastard? Ask yourself this question: "Have I eaten in the past three days?"
If you answer yes, then you are not poor enough, now go buy a PS3 and play Demon Souls until DKSII comes out. It is absolutely equal to DKS, just a different flavor.

For those who already played it, feel free to write something like, "Hell yeah, Demon Souls rocks! I'm going to start playing it online so that BTM has some stellar coop partners whenever he needs them!" or something like that.

Didn't the servers for Demon's souls go down?

Not as of yesterday in the EU.

North America was planned to shut down but then didn't. Last I checked was awhile ago though. Not sure if the traffic has lowered enough to have them pull the plug though.

Also, Demons Souls is just as amazing. Think that Channeler's Trident is hard to get? Lol....are you in for it... *cough* Pure Bladestone *cough*

I think I might actually have a pure bladestone, I will have to check.

In all honesty I would recommend it even if the servers had been shut down. PvP can be loads of fun but the only experience that would really be missing from the game would be a certain boss fight that used the online feature. That **** is such an amazing idea that it deserves a blue ribbon and a hand shake. The single player game though is crazy good and some of the phantoms will make you feel helpless for a bit for sure. Absolutely a great game.

Phenomenal game. I played through it off-line like a wimp and since getting into DkS I've been regretting not trying it out online. I thought the NA servers were down, I might have to revisit it now ...

ive had alot of pvp in 4.1 and 4.2 these last weeks, in world 1.4 and 4.1+4.2
so its not dead there atleast

Been playing for a few days now, EU servers...

If I ever got bored of Dark Souls for some reason I'd get it. That's one perk to starting late: I don't have as much time to get burned out before the next release.

Pure Bladestone

curse that thing. curse it to heck and back! Farmed the darned black skeletons for at least 10 hours trying to get it with no luck. then one day, i got home from work, all set to grind for hours to finally get this thing off my list. got it on the first drop. never have i been so angry to finally get something i've been trying to get for ages.

I will borrow a ps3 + DeS soon. But its sad that i wont be able to play online...

I've played Demon's Souls a lot but never really PvPed. Is PvP still pretty active? Also, around what SL and area would PvP be decently active? Finally, what are some suggested PvP weapons?

Also, gotta love that Dragon Bone Smasher. That thing hit pretty dang hard.

The NA servers are still online. Best SL for PvP is SL 125. The world 4-1 is where everyone duels. You said one yourself, DBS. You have to practice toggle escape because dual kats/swords are common, which they use to infinite stunlock, also known as pushlocking.

Ok thanks! I'm mostly worried about frequently encountering something equivalent to the pre-patch ninja flipping full Giants + Mask and Zweihander builds. Such as the very hard to kill Faith HP regen builds that I've heard about. :pale:

Also, how might these weapons be?

Flamberge would be better of as Sharp if possible. Penetrating Sword idk... I don't know the moveset. Halberds are like the spears of DkS. Rapiers and bows are slow as hell. I have a Bramd build that's pretty awesome. Oh and diminishing returns begin at 30 for Str/Dex/Int/Faith. Vit and End are the same.

Ok. I think I'll finally get around to making a PvP build tomorrow once I get done with my build for Ceaseless Assault.
Too bad the game only allows for 4 characters though.

I like using the Baby's Nail. It inflicts toxic status and since almost everyone has low Luck stat, their poison resistance is very low. They get plagued by around 4 hits. Very useful vs Faith builds. Until they try to cure it with a dark moon grass, then the 20 minutes battle begins.
