dark miracle?
I was playing the DLC and got invaded when he found me he pulled out something not sure talisman or what. But when he held it up it used what I thought was wrath of the gods except it was a dark purple. I had to double take to make sure I was seeing it right. Now I know there is no dark miracles but this was the force circle as a dark purple he continuously used it on me until I died. Hopefully someone else has seen this as well. Was it a mod maybe I don't know. Hopefully someone can help me out. I was playing on the 360 version

Re: dark miracle?
Your memory might be wrong.
Look up "Karmic Justice". It's a rare miracle where when it activates it looks and functions like a dark purple Wrath of Gods, but stronger. It doesn't activate immediately though. You need to hit him a few times before it actually sets off.

Yes it is a mod. The miracle was going to be in the DLC but was cut-out. Some people have managed to get it on to their save files though.

Re: dark miracle?
It sounds to me like it was Karmic Justice. Did they fire off rapidly or did you have to hit it a few times before it took effect?
It could be that he modded somehow.. but the spell sounds similar. Did it look like this:

Oh, Brokewilly was the first one to warn us about it in the forest hunter thread a few weeks ago. He also made a separate thread about it. It's the second one on the list if you search up "miracle", this one being the first. Some people just don't like the search function I guess >.>

Re: dark miracle?
After some research I find that as Sloth said, it's indeed another miracle, called Karmic Justice Explosion, that was cut out. The guy modded it into his character and casts it as he wishes because it works like WoG.

Re: dark miracle?
Wouldn't it just be better for from to put this spell and the the other items that people have found as a dlc.
If it's on the disk anyway then why not I'd pay for it even if i wasn't going to use them much.

They don't just cut out things for no reason. I don't know what the reason is, but the point is that they didn't want this particular spell in the game.

Re: dark miracle?
I wonder if the reason they cut it is that KJE could be increased infinitely by dropping to low health than healing constantly.

Well, there is a difference between cutting something and just commenting the code out. Now, I love from soft, but they should have removed its code entirely unless they plan on patching it in later after some tweaking. Instead of "Lazy Modellers" more like "Lazy Coders"

Re: dark miracle?
Don't blame it on the coders, blame it on the higher ups. "Hey guys, I know you've been working on this for months, but take that out. Oh, leave it in though in case we want to add it in later."alchemydesign wrote:Well, there is a difference between cutting something and just commenting the code out. Commenting something out is 10x better than removing it in case you ever need it again. It also means nothing to the run time engine when you comment it out because it'll skip that, so you have no issue with efficiency.

Re: dark miracle?
Ohhhhh I'm well aware being a coder myself. But my point was, unless they actually have any plans on patching something in...which I doubt we'll see anymore patches or dlcs...it's better to save the code somewhere, remove it from the release, and go about your business, otherwise you have people violating the ToS and griefing legitimate players.

Re: dark miracle?
Oh I agree, but like I said, it's usually our(the programmers, not that I'm lucky enough to be part of From's team ) fault when the higher ups tell us to *** off with our months of hard labour. Hell, sometimes you just don't wanna see your work disappear into the abyss.alchemydesign wrote:Ohhhhh I'm well aware being a coder myself. I heard that. Do you make games? Or are you a software programmer...not to be nosy or anything.
