First off let me introduce myself - I am BodomsChild (Also my PSN), I'm the webmaster and one of the clan leaders of Red Soldier Syndicate (http://www.redsoldiersyndicate.com/forum). Now that we have that out of the way...

I'm here to basically let everyone know that Red Soldier Syndicate [RSS] is recruiting members for our community. To be honest - we're primarily an FPS-focused clan (COD, BF, etc.) but we also have TONS of people in our clan who are absolutely in love with role-playing games and other similar genres.

We have tons of members who actively play Dark Souls and co-op together. Personally, I like to get on Skype with my clanmates and talk to each other while we're playing. We generally summon each other while Skyping and beat bosses, or co-op in the forest, or just whatever we feel like doing. It's really fun and it's a completely different take on Dark Souls online play.

We want to share that awesome community experience with others. We have multiple players on Dark Souls and many of us have builds of every SL. So we can play with just about anyone. We have no special rules or restrictions for joining as it pertains to the Souls series - just be active in our community and try to fit in - and everything is good.

think the reason for lack of interest here is stating how you Co-op in the forest....most people will assume you mean 2v1 invaders and thats looked down upon

I hope you're not inviting people to gank.

How much PvP (and what kind) do you guys do?

First off, welcome to the forums.

I must ask what exactly this new take on Dark Souls PVP is. I don't mean to sound accusatory, but understand that around here many people look at the forest as a "ganking" area in other words a 2v1 sort of deal. Which is something a lot of us frown upon when it comes to PVP.

I know how the community views the forest and how ganking is generally looked down upon. However, this is Dark Souls - not Hello Kitty Island Adventure. People who invade in the forest should know what realm they're stepping into when they put the ring on. If they want fair PVP duels - head to the Undead Burg. The forest is simply not the place for that.

Sometimes yes, we do 2v1 players in the forest...but generally it's because most people simply run away or play "annoyingly" such as running to get NPCs to help them, running to the ladder to spam WotG, etc. Basically the point is - we play for fun. Sometimes we run around naked and kill people with whips, sometimes we just like to go on a killing spree to see if anyone can beat both of us. Regardless, we're having fun playing with friends...which is the whole reason I posted this.

Gankers recruiting?

Bodoms - that's exactly what I say too, only from a catbro side. Forest = WAR. No rules. Period. If you want rules of engagement, go elsewhere. I like my forest the way it is. Gankers vs catbros.

Yup. We don't play hello kitty's adventure in the forest. It's hard PVP, 2vrs 1. Sometimes worse. Folks that can't handle it moan and call it ganking.

I don't moan, I just wouldn't partake in it - the numerical advantage side, not the FH side (I love being an FH). I just fail to see how the guys who are winning fights with a friend or 2 can be regarded as "skilled" or "tough." Seems to me like they're hedging their bets and looking to reap easy wins.

Hardly "pro." But again, I'm fine with the dynamic. The forest is dynamic - sometimes you get gankers, sometimes you get questers, sometimes you get guys that are there for 1 v. 1 PvP (not the best place in the game to go looking for these, but what are you gonna do?), and sometimes you get real fun 2 v. 2s. It is what it is.

And nobody really mentioned bragging about " ganking ". They're quite aware of what they're doing.

Yup, you're right they never brag. They're above such things.

I love fighting when the odds are not in my favor .
Sure i lose a lot, and when i win i do so through Backstabing which isn't very satisfying.
But then there is this one Battle that you never forget so intense that it makes you shiver just thinking about it .

And i need Gank squadrons for this experience .
I am pondering to see the other side though .

IMO, there is nothing wrong with ganking, if it is the expected norm. People make builds designed to gank. People make builds designed to deal with gankers. I don't see any problem with that, and I find it a lot of fun.

Ganking when it is not the expected norm is a different story.

You really don't need to "make" ganking builds. That's giving it way too much credit. Any passable build and any decent player can gank with success. It's not any deeper than that.

You act as if all gankers are glorifying themselves. I never claimed we were pro or awesome for doing 2v1s in the forest - I simply said we have fun seeing if anyone can beat us. I can only reiterate that we play for fun with our friends so many times...

Not saying you (I can't argue with Buzz Lightyear), but let's say you have 20 2 v. 1 fights in the forest not everyone there will be so easy-going about proceedings. Of those 20, maybe 10 will be there just to be jerks to people rather than just for a good 'ol time.

Some ganks are cool. The ones with a sense of humor are the best.

Yeah, i agree with Pendant .

If you do creative ganks like cosplaying as the 4 (5 if you count Smough) Knights of Gwyn that is cool . Or as Shiva and his Bodyguard or as Lautrec and his Ganksquad andandand .
So many possibilities

But Catbros do tend to get on a high horse since the odds are often against them and when they beat someone they'll be like "Yeah in your face !" .

I've had a naked 3-man squad in the Kiln beating people to death with whips. BDSM is alive and well in Lordran.
