    Pinwheel.

"I seek power, with this flame,"

If I remember my Lore correctly, Pinwheel stole some of Nito's power and took control of the Catacombs. It's possible he used the Rite of Kindling in some way to do this, or perhaps now that he has some of Nito's power he's trying to use the Rite to increase his own.

"Seeking thy kinsman, of malicious fame."

He has three masks on his face "Father", "Mother" and "Child". Three members of a family, his own perhaps? Pinwheel's motivations are, as far as I know, not even touched upon... it's entirely possible he's attempting to bring his family back to life.

"To the land, of rancid breath,"

Pinwheel's lair is on the barrier between the Catacombs and the Tomb of Giants, both filled with the rotting remains of the dead.

"I shall meet, my lonesome death."

Despite his best efforts to bring back his lost family, Pinwheel will remain forever alone, with only the Skeletons to keep him company, puppets dancing to his tune.

I never even saw Pinwheel in this light until recently. Though I could also point out in the fight's cut-scene the masks seemed to confer with one another before attacking, so it's possible they actually are a single family joined into one body - maybe he's trying to reconstruct new bodies for the souls trapped within?

Anyways, I think it's Lord Gwyn.

'I seek power, with this Flame'
He wants to retain the Age of Fire for fear of the Dark Lord.

'Seeking thy kinsman, of malicious fame'
'Thy' kinsman specifically means 'your' kinsman, so it's referring to the kinsman of us (us being humans). He's looking for a way to deal with the one of malicious fame - the Dark Lord.

'To the land, of rancid breath'
To the Kiln, the great ash-blasted place. Could also refer to Lordran, what with all the undead.

'I shall meet, my lonesome death.'
Gwyn is already seeking the kinsman of malicious fame - the Dark Lord. He knows full well that the only way to link the fire is to trick the Dark Lord into killing him and becoming his successor. To this end, he's already set up the two bells to open the way to Sen's and the bat demons to transport the slayer of the Golem to Anor Londo, and he's also got Frampt to instruct the ringer of the bells, and Gwynevere's illusion to instruct them further to take the necessary steps to where he's hidden.

Plus, this way, the 'Chosen Undead' will also be dealing with Gwyn's Rivals - slaying Nito and the spawning place of the Demons, destroying Kaathe's plans for the Darkwraiths by killing his sealed champions, and killing the mad and deluded Seath.

Finally, Gwyn KNOWS he should die - he already has a tomb set up with Gwyndolin to guard it. He's one of the very few characters who truly intends to die to complete his goals.

Masterful. truly amazing. Dammit why cant i up vote more than once per day T.T fear not though i keep a list of people who make good comments and as an Author im certainly obligated to reward those with excellent commentary happy

"I seek power, with this flame,"

Someone seeking power with a flame. Well, if we take it literally, you are talking about a pyromancer or other kind of FLAME...

"Seeking thy kinsman, of malicious fame."

Looking for family? Interesting. I guess we should know more about your concept of family...

"To the land, of rancid breath,"

A dying land, Lordran. Home of many calamities, witness of the past glory.

"I shall meet, my lonesome death."

You shall meet your death. Alone. You are saying that before even start. So depressing.

    __________________

Lord Gwyn. He seeks power, thats why he picked one of the god's souls in the great arrival. He looks for his family, the ancient gods, to perpetuate the Age of Fire. Its obvious that the rancid breath is the old world, shrouded by fog and stinky dragons.
And thou shall meet your fate alone. Because you will become one with the flame, linking the great soul, making possible the impossible, starting the Age of Fire.

Bow Great riddle as always, Nova-sama.

big grin Glad I could provide another view on a usually overlooked character~

Everyone in DkS seems to have a tragic past, so I figured Pinwheel probably does too.

Its Newman from Seinfeld. In that scene his truck catches fire and he screams,

    "OH THE HUMANITY!"

It's an inside joke for sure. I was wondering if anyone was going to get it.

I should make it a little smaller; kinda distracting.

My 2 cents... It's The Exiled King. If you think about it, he's a Pyromancer who is in a land that is full of exiles like Priscila, whom he has taken a liking to, aswell as the infected undead and the undead dragon that lets out a poisonus gas. And there are pyromancies around him that are unheard of to others as well as that one ember that if I remember correctly created Cursed weapons. we also find his body behind Priscila after killing him, so in a sense he does die alone as priscila pays him no heed. But as I said it's my own guess and I haven't seen anyone else mention him.

Pretty sure she is a dragon as her own dagger is a dragon weapon plus the tail. Though there are many explination as to why she couldn't be a dragon as there are very few dragons left that could have found a humanoid large enough to mate with and the only dragon that could have that chance would be the insane Duke Seath the Scaleless. The Only Humanoid large enough to birth Priscila that we meet is Gwynovere. Since the Game doesn't give us much detail of any kind of her origin other than the fact that she is a crossbreed we can only assume she is part human and part dragon. or that she is part Humanoid and part whatever it was that mated with her mother. Unless the thing was the female and the Humanoid was Male???? In anycase my own believe is that she's part Drgaon and I still wanting to hear who the riddle is about!!!!!! I only have so many guess!

Could she be a crossbreed of Sif?
She does have fur, and a tail. lol!
No really, she is part dragon right?
    Isn't that a DkS fact?

What detail are you talking about?
Who are you...and what do you know? lol!

    Umm... umm...

    Everlasting Stone Dragon!

    1. She's a fire keeper. (She? All other fire keepers are female, so could make sense.)

    2. She's looking for humans to join the path of the Dragon. Since it's an evil covenant it's looking for 'Kinsman of malicious fame'...

    3. As for Rancid Breath, Ash lake don't look too healthy, being just next to Blighttown and Tomb of the Giants. Plus, Hydra's breath is nasty!

    4. Maybe the Dragon wants to die? Or maybe it's sad cos it's outlived all of its companions barring the traitor Seath...

    What detail?
I thought it was common souls knowledge that shes half dragon?
The only other creature that's her size would be Sif, but everything seems to point to dragon.
