New way to save Solaire from going mad... Empty New way to save Solaire from going mad...

For this to work on a first playthru you need the Master Key.

Run through undead burg, down havels tower and through Darkbasin and up to Andre and through to activate the elevators. Doing this allows you to skip the burg and the bridge.

When you go to Blighttown later you need to go through the backdoor (preferable anyway).

When you got the lord vessel, cleared demon ruins/izalith and killed the sunlight maggot (Solaire is still stuck in his starting position) you can go to him and activate him, he will now progress through his normal interaction points but you need to go to the bonfire in Anor Londo (the binfire in the wing with the silver knights).

After this he should be in the shortcut area in Izalith, sobbing about his sun without you having to open the shortcut.

Wow. You have tried this? I would not think that you could pass the secret door until the Orange gates are removed. With this, can you reach towards the Bed of Chaos? I am curious.

The Backdoor can only be opened by joining the covenant, in which must sacrifice 30 humanity, no?

He said after he got the lord vessel so I'm guessing he placed it.

Interesting find. Sadly I have activated him on the two characters I'm playing with right now so I can't see this awesomeness, next game though I will do this. S and O is going to suck without him sad

You could always get a friend to cosplay as solaire, that should cheer you up for the S and O fight.

All the normal Summon spots work as before, it doesnt seem like those are tied to his NPC dialogue to have been triggered.

As mentioned before, yes the lord vessel need to be placed in order to get to Izalith.

I ran into this in a previous playthru by mistake and decided to verify it on my last and yes it works as described.

I'm going to try this on NG+. Because by not talking to him on your first ever playthrough, you won't be able to get the white soapstone until late in the game.
