    Gunners in Dark Souls

Post by Shindori on Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:11 am

    Short version? There are none.

This makes me sad, seeing as I want to make a Coyote Stark cosplay.
Now... I'm thinking I could use crossbows instead.. But which crossbow? Avelyn?
I can never seem to grab a hold of her.. :/
    He wouldn't use a shield, which would be a great challenge for me, because I feel naked without one.. but I might try. Also, a katana on the main hand. Crossbows can be fired offhand, right? >>;

Start on the end with Avelyn, then run up the stairs and change the direction, as soon as it stops moving quit the game. Once you reload you can drop right onto the bookshelf with avelyn, careful with the archers though. Those guys pack a punch.

Not really, when you reload it will just put you on whatever side you were on 10 seconds ago... or something like that.

Ask someone here for a pair. Also, yes you can fire offhand

And it's possible to make a dual wielding crossbow build. Light/Heavy as your main hitter, Avelyn as your heavy hitter, use PW and RtsR for extra pain, and focus on avoiding all out melee.

That still leaves the question of armor there.. what armor to use for him? I was thinking the black leather boots and Chester's coat but modded to look white.. if only i could find such mods though

Red Tearstone Ring. Also, painting guardian chest for Starrk's coat. Also, make it an int build, sorceries for his exploding wolves/coyotes.

I was actually thinking a faith build. Wrath of The Gods for when people get too close, then lightning bolts for normal ceros.

If you're using a katana, then you aren't a gunner either.

Didn't say I was. But a katana would be a secondary weapon in this build.

Who said a gunner can't have a side weapon? Maybe a dagger of somekind.

I'm not a man of faith. But you'll have lots of excess stats since you won't be needing to level either Str or dex beyond the bare minimum to use crossbows. But I don't remember if you can fire any crossbow fast enough to tag someone with a crossbow after using WoG. But hey, why the *** not right?

Maybe a build Like this, that can do both and have variants of both faith AND int http://mmdks.com/rwt

Having a crossbow as your main weapon and a katana as your secondary would be like having an assault rifle and pistol and just SAYING the pistol is your primary. It just doesn't work like that.

That looks great but... Idk.. I think one crossbow would be enough since i cant fire off both at the same time, you know? Or else that'd be pretty awesome and I would use two avelyns haha. Also.. I feel like it's open to a lot, but would leave me at a risk for ownage.. a high one at that.
Acrtually... I could make a VERY awesome faith build.. give me a few minutes and i'll cook something up!

    Its a cosplay build, though.

Well in the case of cosplay then anything goes. Go ahead and use a katana. but you still can't say it's a gunner build, if you wanted to that is.

Lol, thing is your approaching combat the wrong way. If your gonna fight with crossbows, your gonna be kiting. I admit crossbow kiting is harder to do than short/composite bow kiting, but it's still viable. The idea is to always be outside their range til they have no choice to chase you and try to hit you.

This is what I came up with. Screw kiting and whatnot, I'll keep him without the resurreccion.

I thought it was pretty genius. One thing I noticed is non of the gotei 13 like their release, because it doesn't match their style.

Come to think of it, you're kinda right. Most of them hate their releases for rather superficial reasons though. If most of them were to actually go all out, I don't think ichigo would look nearly as op in the long run. I stopped watching the show awhile back because the Aizen fight felt a little bleh after seeing the final 3 espada fall though. Have any of them really cared to actually show off their full strength since then?

Well from what I heard, they're bringing Halibel (***) back as a good guy.. kinda wish they'd bring back nell though. As for the OPness.. all I gotta say is Zaraki Kenpachi. He has no bankai. Imagine if he did. Which is scary. What's even scarier is.. you know they older woman in the gotei, the one that has that mother look going on? She was revealed to had been the first zaraki.. and to be stronger than the old man, the leader. whom, by the way, died.
