Darkmoon Level Scale
So I made a glitched SL 713 Darkmoon to invade Dark Anor Londo to get some guys farming, I can't invade a single person though. I've not only try Anor Londo, but I've tried Demon Ruin's, Catacombs, and even Klin. The one guy I did invade was equal to my level and he was at Klin. I guess the wiki is definitely wrong, I can't invade anyone lower then me.

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
How did you try to "invade"? The only time I have seen the level limits thrown out the window is Gravelording (a level 1 gravelord has infected my world), Red Eye Orb (no level restriction above your level, below your level there is a 10 +10% level restriction) and Red Soapstone (summoned a 200+ guy before).
Correct me if I am wrong
Edit: You need to either be in Gravelord Covenant or Darkwraith Covenant.

The wiki itself states in the Darkmoon covenant a level 1 can invade a level 713 AND vice versa. That was the whole point of why I made the character, blah, now I have to start over again

Sorry about that, the wiki is what we make of it. If someone puts bad info up, someone needs to correct it.

Damn that really blows, had to delete my old characters to make this one.
I can still be invaded by anyone in human form in Darkroot though as long as I haven't killed Sif right?

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
I wasn't aware you could back up your save file unless you had Playstation Plus which is something you need to pay for as far as I know. As far as putting the save file on a USB stick I don't even have one, can't remember the last time I used one lol.
Ugh, guess I'll go play Demon Souls.

I think it's just 10% above and below like most other covenants, kinda sucks.

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
I meant how does the Darm Moon's Blade covenant's orb work.
It can't be 10% above and below, my level 19 was invaded by a level 57 spirit of vengance before.

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
I have no idea then, I've invaded on my SL 160 before and killed numerous people that gave me anywhere from 4k-12k Souls, I'd say that's a pretty big difference in soul level considering I get 50k or more at the Klin when I get invaded by red phantoms.

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
I think there are still a lot of open questions regarding invasion parameters. What we know is that DMs can invade substantially below their level, but it's not clear how far. Nonetheless, it's at least 50 SL below, 25% of their level, or something like that.
I think it is fairly well established that DWs can't invade much below their level (the greater of 10SL or 10% is probably the limit, much like the white soapstone).
The forest is still a bit of a mystery, but it seems to be mostly or partially a free for all. Midgar, if you're willing, your services as an SL712 could be invaluable in determining forest invasion parameters. If you would be so kind, could you please subject yourself to invasions for an evening with your SL712 and then try another evening as a forest hunter? My suspicion is that there is some no cap for people being invaded, but there is some sort of a loose cap for forest hunters. I would absolutely love empirical data on this, but I don't have an SL712 and I don't want to mess around with my install.

Re: Darkmoon Level Scale
I'm not sure on the lvling restrictions are for Darkmoon but I am lvl 140 and I invaded someone in the Kiln that was lvl 100 and it wasn't a glitch because I invaded that same person 3 times so it's more than +-10% of your lvl
P.S. your max toon would be great for forest covenant since no invasion limits to my knowledge because my lvl 250 toon invades there continously

Yeah Midgar - give it a whirl in regards to allowing yourself to be invaded while in the forest. The most souls I have ever received when invading the forest is between like 600k-800k - I'm not sure of what level the host was but they were definitely greater than 10% above my level. I will check the invasion soul calculator to try and figure out what level the host was.
Midgar if you would be so kind to do some testing as Strangejoy suggested then we may able to put the forest invasion SL limit question to bed. I just hope I'm not the one who invades you when you conduct the test - I really don't enjoy being used as cannon fodder:(
