Get the Iron Round Shield. Looks way cooler than the Stone Greatshield while maintaining a good amount of stability. I'd recommend the Silver Knight Shield but it ain't Spartan like.

Gotta second this recommendation. Another bonus to the Iron Round Shield over the Stone Greatshield is that it can parry, allowing for all those brutal execution moves that would really fit the character of the build

I thought about the Iron Round Shield, but when I put it on, I thought it looked a little too small to be a spartan shield. I'm going for authenticity here

The Iron Round shield is based off of the Greek Aspis, which is the shield that the Spartans also used. Your standard infantry shield was about the size of the Iron Round shield, perhaps a little bit large. If you look at it's make, it also resembles the Spartan shield in that it is actually a wooden shield with a metal layer on the outside.
I'd say go with the Iron Round Shield.

Every single Spartan cosplayer I have fought used the Iron Round Shield. It looks perfect.

As a phantom it works best, since then the color doesn't matter as much.
A roman cosplay is also very possible thanks to the Eagle Shield.

All right, Iron Round Shield it is. Thanks everyone for info/help. I'd prefer that on anyway, since it's decently light and I plan on fast rolling.

Solair's shield looks more spartany. Weren't they famous for having well-kept shields with a painting on the front? Two things the stone golem shield does not have.
